"All the folks at Turtle Tuff who I dealt with while getting my garage door replaced were just wonderful. Jimmy the owner was very fair and everyone involved in the install were terrific. I would highly recommend Turtle Tuff to anyone who has garage door issues."

"We were absolutely thrilled with our experience with Cal's Door Company. First of all, the customer service was outstanding. They were extremely prompt to respond to my request via Home Advisor, and easy to work with in terms of planning and scheduling. They were also flexible with my availability schedule, which we really appreciated. They came out, took measurements, and provided me a website to view the various doors I could potentially have installed. They followed up quickly after the initial visit, quoted me an EXCELLENT price, and I immediately decided to hire them and move forward with the request. The garage door was ordered quickly and just minutes ago they got finished with the installation. Installing a garage door is kind of a big deal to me. It's a large item! They showed up on time, and got it installed in like 2 hours! And did an OUTSTANDING job with the installation, too! It is smooth and quiet and works with our existing garage door opener. Which reminds me, they had the honesty and integrity to inform us we did not need to replace the garage door opener simply because we were installing a new garage door, unlike some of the larger companies whose name I probably don't need to mention by name. But let's just say that yet another added bonus for us was that we live in an area far enough away from metropolitan Kansas City that it isn't always easy to get ANY type of service technician to come out here without either charging extra for the trip or whining about it. These guys didn't blink. And I get the feeling that even if we lived farther away from where they are, they still wouldn't have complained about it or charged additional money. It was really nice to have an alternative to the corporate door giant. More importantly, the work quality was excellent, the service was absolutely outstanding, the selection of doors was large, they were professional and polite and easy to work with, and it was an excellent value. They also thanked us for our business. Could not be happier and while I don't expect to have to do this again I kind of wish I could hire these guys again just because it was such a pleasant experience."

"We hired Jerod to epoxy our basement & main bathrooms and a sink in the laundry room. They look amazing. He did exactly what I wanted. He is very eager to provide exactly what you are wanting. He goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied with the finished product. He also worked & finished in a timely manner. We will have Jerod do more epoxy work for us!"
Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
