"Ted Anderson put in our garage door as well as the motor and complete items necessary. I have not needed any garage door help since. Quick friendly service."
Wood garage door at least 50 years old.
Older wooden garage door, probably installed in the 70's. The facing has begun to decay and previous attempts to repair the panels with wood putty have chipped out from weathering.
Brand new thermal insulated North Central garage door in almond with a colonial window section!
Brand new North Central thermal insulated door. Looks great and runs smooth, meaning less wear and tear on the opener.

Much warmer too!

"I highly recommend Farmhouse Garage doors. Our job consisted of installing a new garage door on the third stall of a three stall garage and installing a new garage door opener. The older garage door opener was moved to the new door and a newer one was installed in the main door. The estimate process was quick, a couple of adjustments were made with no issues, a few rusty, worn out parts were replaced in the main door from serviceable parts from the old third stall door. The price was very reasonable, the work was done quickly and efficiently, everything was smooth and done to our satisfaction. Again, I highly recommend this company."

"I can’t recommend this garage door repair service enough! My garage door was in rough shape—severely sagging and completely off track, looking like it might collapse any minute (picture attached for reference). It was stressful and inconvenient, especially with cars trapped inside. From the first call, they were incredibly responsive and got a technician out extremely fast—way quicker than I expected for such an urgent issue. The tech was professional, friendly, and took the time to thoroughly inspect everything. He clearly explained exactly what had gone wrong (the tracks, springs, and alignment issues), why it happened, and what steps were needed to fix it properly. No upsell nonsense—just straightforward, honest advice. The quote was fair and transparent upfront, with no hidden surprises. He got right to work, fixed it efficiently, and left everything clean and better than before. Now the door operates smoothly, quietly, and looks brand new—perfectly level and sealed."

"Spoke with Tyler over the phone. He was very polite and knowledgeable. Needed our garage door replaced. Got 3 estimates and decided to go with Mr Spring. Could not be happier with our choice. Tech was on time and did an excellent job and stayed within our budget. Would recommend Mr Spring to anyone needing garage door work done."

Small jobs welcome

"John came out to check out my garage door problem. I didn’t know what was going on with it and why it would not open. John quickly identified it was a broken spring and replaced it in an affordable and timely manner. John inspected my door and saw a couple more things with problems and suggested it so we did them to prevent future issues. John was not pushy and gave me options to choose from. Informative, fair priced, easy to work with, and overall a great experience. Would happily hire Grey Duck Garage Doors again and highly recommend to anyone."

FAQs for garage and garage door service projects in Maple Grove, MN

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.

Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.

A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.

Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.

A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.

Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.

If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
