"Couldn't have been more pleased with Dotan's very competitive price, quality of his work and product, and his timely response. No hidden fees, no additional service call fees or diagnostic charges. One of our cars was trapped inside our garage because of a broken 20-year old garage door spring that would not allow even manual lifting. Besides replacing the double door heavy duty springs, he lubed the worm drive, hinges and rollers to ensure a smooth operation. Would defintely hire again and recommend to family and friends for any garage door repair or replacement."

"We are extremely happy with Precision Garage Doors’ work to repair our double-wide garage door. The door was installed 10 years ago by Precision. It had gotten off its tracks and was stuck open the evening before we were leaving on vacation. My call was answered by a polite human (!) who managed to schedule us early the following morning. The technicians arrived on schedule, explained what was needed clearly, replaced worn parts, and had the door sorted out quickly and professionally. Also fantastic was that the door was under their lifetime warrantee, so the cost for the repair was minimal. We highly recommend Precision Garage Doors Tigard."

"Great experience with EcoStar from start to finish. Max contacted me immediately after my inquiry about a new garage door and had his estimator Mike show up the next morning. Mike was very personable and not pushy like several other estimates I had. He gave me several options for a new door. I chose one of the higher end doors that they had in stock and was able to get 10% off. They installed the Amar Lincoln 3000 for over $1,000 less than my first estimate quoted me for the same door. They're install team showed up the next day and had the door installed perfectly in about 2 and 1/2 hours. If you are in need of a new garage door at a great price, call Ecostar!"

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
