"Delivery was delayed due to credit inquiry. After the concern was raised, shipment was rushed to us. Self installation didn't go as easy. Issue was resolved over the phone. The glass break sensor was a bit sensitive to loud noise such as cabinet door closing and door sensor repeatedly falls off and had to be reattached. Notification of alarm activation was fast and made to the right contact numbers. This prevented false alarm calls to the police."

"I am very satisfied with their work. I plan to use them annually going forward because the money is worth the many hours it would take us to do the job. Firehouse was very accommodating of a complete re-scheduling at my request. The only negatives I would raise are that we noticed a couple of minor extraneous things they did not return to the original condition (such as an outdoor thermometer wire through one window). However we noticed this stuff after the fact and do not intend to bring that to the company's attention, so I consider that more of a thoroughness than a responsiveness issue. Secondly they stirred up a some dirt and debris from opening and closing old windows, and they didn't do any clean up that I saw. This created about 30 minutes sweeping and wiping on my part, but again, I did not bring it to their attention before or after they left. Lastly, the phone rep gave me ballpark prices for each type of window but the written statement I received upon completion was slightly ($50-75) higher than my expectations. This is likely due to not requesting an in-person estimate to determine which windows would open or which storms they could pull inside. Clearly I wanted the job done and the prices they quoted me were acceptable so I went with it. No regrets here, but a stickler for accurate estimates should obviously have them out to assess before the cleaning."

"Just beautiful work.  I would never have imagined the project as it turned out.  We really love our porch and spend every moment we can on it.  I would highly recommend Young Remodeling, even after our frustrations in the beginning.  I'm going to try to add photos to this post.

Since Young Remodeling has gotten his own crew on the job, they have been there daily (except for rain days) and are doing outstanding work.  His carpenters are very skilled and very friendly.  They have worked long days and weekends to get our project completed.  His crew had the structure ready for a roof when it needed to be; the roofer they recommended was there when he said he'd be and had the job done sooner than expected.  The craftmanship is very nice and the attention to detail has been very refreshing.  Out project is not complete yet, but it is definately getting closer each day.  I'll update as soon as it is done!  I have changed the rating I gave Young Remodeling to reflect the job being done now.

I chose Young Remodeling because of the reviews on Angies list and have been nothting but frustrated since.

When we finally agreed to a plan, Paul Young told me once we signed the contract and put down a deposit the job would start the following Monday and would be done in 7-10 days.  We signed the contract on May 26th.  Today is July 12th and we barely have anything done.

I've had mutliple promises and just as many broken promises as well as many, many excuses..  I understand the construction trade and understand not everything goes as planned.  The crew started demo on May 28th, came three days and we haven't seen them again until July 8th; this included many promises and dates and lots of no call, no shows.  They've now been there four days and have barely scratched the surface.  We again called Paul Young who continues to give us excuses and is giving us a date at the end of July for completion.  What happened to 7-10 days.  My frustration is the lack of communication, the apparently lack of concern for what was promised, and what appears to be whoever the other clients are they need to be attending are more important than our job that has been delayed for two months now.  What happened to integrity?

I have kept detailed notes as we've gone along and I'm sure anyone who read them would agree we have a right to be frustrated and angry.  If Paul Young can complete our job within the next two weeks and if the quality is excellent I will definately sharte that information here.  I would hesitate to recommend them at this time.

"They arrived at the scheduled time and did an awesome job installing our windows and doors.  They were professional and cleaned everything up when finished.  We have had them back out to replace more windows and have been equally pleased.  We will use them in the future for more window installation and possible other work."

"This is the 2nd time I have used VantagePoint Exteriors to install windows for me.  First time was in a condominium and from an Angie's Big Deal.  Loved the windows and they did a good job so used them again when I bought a house.  I gave a B on price but they are competitive with other companies.  Double hung, double paned windows are just plain expensive.  The windows are awesome and are Heartland windows.  But windows are only as good as they are installed.  My crew (Willy, Justin, and Anthony) were truly superior. I was there the entire time and I know they went above and beyond. I had a beautiful bay window put in where I had a triple window.  It is unbelievably good looking and they had to do extra work because of how heavy it was.  Built knee braces and insulated and trimmed it out in the interior because it needed wider trim. Truly did an great job. Justin and Anthony are hard working, polite, young men. Willy knows everything there is about installing windows (and is a joker too!). It did take almost 2 months for my windows to come in after being ordered but that's just how it is.  I'm sure the window company (in the good ole USA, Iowa) is busy because they truly make a great product. VantagePoint now does siding also which they did not do when I had my first windows installed. They are much busier this time around as it is a husband-wife team but they want to do right by their customers.  You may have to ask for something or remind them of something that needs done but it will get done.  They will be back at my house this fall to finish up my last 8 windows.
