"This was an Angie's deal and I do not remember the cost.
I had had some minor leaking around the exhaust hood vent and another leak seemingly from around a vent on the roof in close approximatety to the kitchen sink during the past year or two, which is why I had purchased the deal. The shingles have a 30 year guarantee, the roof is about 12 years old. Several months ago I called Arthur King to schedule the inspection, a few days later I was aware someone or someones on the roof of my home. I did not receive a phone call or any sort of inspection report so assumed there issues, areas or concernfound or areas in need of repair, until the first monsoon/storm this summer.  When went ariund 4:00 or 5:500 I sI woke up to find  flooded floor and water pouring out of my ceiling in both those areas in my kitchen.  Despite my best efforts at cleaning up the 6 plus incomehes of water, setting spoke to the The water leaks around the vents in the kitchen was must likely due to the high winds as th.  Every at had also happened to many other homeowners for the first time with these storms. I would be more confident on that being the cause if these storms had been the first time. Everyone I spoke with at Arthur King were pleasant, and they did not charge me for the additional work, but I am not confident have thar aae problem has been located and repaired.o

"

I was referred to Almada Roofing by a friend so I figured I would at least get an estimate. Their estimate was the lowest out of 5 total estimates, so I went with them. Almada roofing did quality work, showed up on time as promised, kept us informed of the progress and were actually done ahead of schedule without costing us any extra money. If you want an honest, caring business to trust your homes roof to, Almada Roofing is the one for you!

"We had a complete closet demo and remodel.
Complete Tub fixture replacement.
Downstairs replacement of baseboards of center island & pantry baseboards.
These were just a start of the items we wanted to begin.  After the visit, we were told that we would have an email with examples of closets and associated estimates. No email or phone call was provided after the visit. Very odd considering that they were recommended so highly in the community.

---Do not know if this is any relevance or not, but we are an LGBT family and it very obvious to us while making the appointment that this is a Christian organization. This made no difference to us, as we just wanted the jobs completed.---

Update: The owner and his daughter personally visited us this evening and profusely apologized for his company dropping the ball. He reiterated that his company does not discriminate and asked for a second chance to earn our business. He seemed genuinely upset and wanted to assure us that he valued our business. We believe him and want to encourage others to give this company a chance to earn your trust. "

"In late spring 2011 we had two roofs to repair, our primary residence and our previous residence which we have been fixing up to sell.  The insurance company reviewed the hailstorm damage and agreed to pay for damages including roof replacement on both properties.  After interviewing one company, I decided to check out Angie's list and saw that Audubon had a 100% satisfaction rating from the reviewers, plus a coupon for $500 (which would cover the typical insurance deductible).  Chris, the lead salesman from Audubon came out to our previous residence.  He seemed to be very personable and professional in his approach, so we decided to go with them on the first house, and if it went well, to give them the 2nd roof job as well.  Chris made it clear that the company policy was to make sure the customer was very happy with the work that Audubon did.  My insurance company gave me a detailed line-item cost breakdown, and their contract  had a box we checked "per insurance scope" which meant they would do item-by-item as specified by the insurance evaluator.  I liked that approach because I had on paper a detailed list of what was to be done.  Another bidder grumbled at the extra work involved at giving a detailed list, but Audubon's contract made things simple.

I was very fortunate in this whole process to have a friend with construction trade and roofing experience living at the old house, because he kept a sharp eye for me on what was going on with the roof replacement.  He caught a few errors made by the workers which Audubon corrected when we brought it to the foreman's attention.    The work was finished in a timely way and to our satisfaction, so we called Chris and signed another contract with Audubon to do the roof replacement at our residence.  This was a much bigger house with a much more complicated structure with lots of roof angles and a more complicated geometry.  We also signed a second contract with them to do some general repairs that were needed that were outside the insurance scope: a portion of the roof which insurance decline to cover, the facsia which needed scraping and painting, some ceiling painting/repair on two entryways and a porch, and a gutter that needed to be replaced.

I decided to hire my friend to keep an eye on the repair work for me since he had been so helpful by catching mistakes at the first house.  I am really glad I did, because he caught a doozy of a goof by the roofing crew that might have taken years off the life of the new roof.  More on that later.  The happy news and the bottom line is that in the end they did a really good job and we like the end result.  I think owner Brian Higgins' policy of making sure the customer is happy with their work is more than lip service; he really backed it up even when it hurt in his wallet.   The snafu (and things got pretty tense for a while until the problem was fixed) was that the crew that was tearing off the old roof didn't get rid of all the roofing nails they had pulled up.  That was sloppy work, inexcusable, really.  They put new tarpaper down on top of a lot of the nails left behind.  If my friend had not caught this, what would eventually happen when the roof get hot and older is that the nails would tear through the tarpaper from the underneath and the roof would no longer be watertight.  This might be 2-3  years down the road and we would be in a pickle.  It's kind of like sweeping dirt under the carpet instead of doing a thorough cleaning. We called the office and Brian, the owner of Audubon came over and reviewed the situation on the roof.  At first he was defensive about the mistake, but when confronted with the hard evidence (lots of nails sticking up and laying on their side under the new tarpaper) he ordered the workers to tear up the new tarpaper they had installed and do the job over.  That must have been financially painful for Audubon, but he did the right thing, and from there on out it was smooth sailing.  The guys who did the fascia scaping and painting, the gutters and ceiling repairs did a super job.  The finished product looks beautiful, and we are very happy with it.  Thanks Audubon.  "
