"I had to have a complete change out of my HVAC system. From the beginning of the service call with Joe the service manager to Drew the sales advisor it was a great experience. When the installers Rob and Seth arrived, they were on time. They were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They laid tarps down to protect the carpet and everything was nicely cleaned up when they finished. The replacement / installation was completed efficiently, and the system was tested and Seth explained the thermostat ops. Rob and Seth make a great team. Seth went above and beyond and brought in the heavy box of dog food that was delivered that morning from the porch. What an awesome job. Thank you Maynor HVAC."

"I had them service the heating portion primarily . It seemed to be working harder but nit putting out as much heat as it should . Aaron who has worked on our system did a great job . Since it was a service he checked the whole system , found a weak capacitor and a dead fuse which caused half of the heating elements to not function . Aaron is always polite , very professional and dies nit wast time . He had the capacitor on the truck and did the new Instalation and had to order the fuse for the heating elements . It was a job well done I would add that I am not comparing the cost of the item with other AC companies . The item needed to be replaced , I trust comfort air unless they give me reason not to trust them"

"After numerous "pros" came to repair my HVAC system, I always got the same response....you need a new system for 8.5 to 12.5k. What they don't know is I know enough about these systems to know the cost of parts and how the system works. So when the "technician" shows up and says they don't know which of the 5 parts was a problem, I'm skeptical. I just don't want to fix everything myself anymore. Comfort Monster is different. The difference is their technicians do not work on commission. Repairman from other companies get paid when the customer has to buy a new HVAC system, giving no incentive to fix anything. Comfort Monster technicians take pride in solving the puzzle of why the machine isn't working. I have two systems and when they inevitably have a problem, I'm calling these guys. Dude even gave my little girls Comfort Monster plush toys and they carry them everywhere!"

"The company was very responsive and quick to get someone out to check the problem with our furnace. Once we decided on replacement, they got us on the schedule immediately and completed the job within a day.  All crew members were pleasant and professional and made this a terrific experience.  We have used Advanced in the past for refrigerator repairs and have always been extremely happy with their service and prices.  Will definitely use them again!"

"AJ called quickly and was available at a good time. We recently bought our home and the HVAC system had not been serviced for a long time. He arrived on time and assessed our needs, gas furnace servicing now and repositioning of some venting pipes that interfered with the filter access. He was friendly and through. AJ will come back this spring to service the AC and get it up to optimal working condition. He did check the AC to confirm its size with our square footage was correct. Mostly it is dirty and low on refrigerant. Good to know. We feel confident he and his company will provide superior service for our needs."

"Streamline Services is my go to place for plumbing and hvac repairs. I always have fantastic and speedy service. My last service call was truly exceptional and worth taking the time to review. I knew I needed my water heater replaced, and also a repair to my air conditioning system. I didn't feel pressured, and the technician answered every question I had, and I did not feel rushed into any decision. From the first phone call, to the time of install, I received nothing but great customer service. I won't call anyone else."

Customers say: True professional

"Woody was quick to respond to my inquiry, and honest about my options up front. I had my entire upstairs system replaced, but could have just had the leak repaired. After discussing the options with Woody, I decided total replacement was in my best interest. I had an estimate from Woody that evening. He had the entire system replaced in one day, and was courteous and professional throughout the entire process."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Apex, NC

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
