"What I liked: Eliseo spent time getting to know the layout of our house and goals before recommending a system. He answered all of our questions honestly and comprehensively. Their prices seemed fair compared to other estimates we received. They were kind, considerate, good humored, and worked hard the whole time they were at our house. The system works great so far. What disappointed me: the job took longer than expected, and the electrical component that was subcontracted out cost 3 times as much as we were anticipating."

"The contractor was punctual. He briefed us on his intentions, explaining how long the water to the house was to be off, what work was to be accomplished and when. He did a great job in getting the preparation work quickly and efficiently. He was very meticulous with the little details that enabled him to get the water heater installed and operating in a timely manner. [He did a great job of rerouting the water lines to and from the old heater.] He explained to my wife and myself how to start the water heater and some pointers for efficient operation. I would heartily recommend him for plumbing and water heating work!"

"I called Randy of Xpert Heating and Air Conditioning with several issues with our gas air heating system and he came out the same day. He went the extra mile to explain three issues with my system, suggested cost effective solutions, discovered a potentially disastrous issue I did not even realize was occurring and got our furnace up and running. He also showed me how to replace the condensate pump so I had the option to purchase the part online. This saves me a considerable amount of money. However, he is more than willing to come back and install the part free of charge if I prefer he does it. Randy was professional and stayed on task, completing all the work in an hour's time. He gave us several options to save funds until we can repair/ replace our very expensive filter system. I have found it progressively difficult to find reliable, professional, honest service from individuals who really care about customer service. We have found that with Randy and we are looking forward to becoming a loyal customer. His 30 years of experience along with pride of ownership of his own company make Randy the best in the business."

"Arranged free inspection of dryer venting, never before checked in 25 years. He came on time and was very agreeable about being sure to keep the outside door shut, as well as everything else. He immediately discovered the duct was flammable plastic and said I was lucky never to have had a fire. For a modest fee he replaced that with modern parts and cleaned out any debris. I am thinking of having him check the ducts for my heating and AC system, which also have never been checked in the 25 years since we bought this house. First time we have lived in the same house for so long. Have to learn to keep up maintenance better!"

"I was having a problem with MS Office not responding and other files being very, very slow to open. Jim started looking for the cause right away. He did numerous checks for viruses, malware, and various other things that can go wrong. He vigorously pursued a resolution pretty steadily for two days before determining it was a malfunctioning external backup system that was causing the problem. With that finding, he promptly got my computer running smoothly and very fast again. He made two trips to my house; on the first one, he had to cross a sheet of ice in my driveway. Jim is a very capable and experienced computer analyst that will get after your problem because he fully understands the importance of, and the need to have a working computer in the house.

"I was very impressed with the promptness of the technician. He called prior to his arrival and I didn't have to wonder when and/or if he was ever going to get here. He was very polite and answered my questions regarding my furnace. I was very comfortable with his knowledge and expertise and purchased a contract for them to return the next year to check my furnace."

"They did a good job. Everyone was professional and I am happy with the installed furnace. They did not have fliers on the furnace models they were selling for me to examine or retain for evaluation. Even a website would have been nice. Everyone I dealt with were professional, responsive and ontime. Met with me on a Sunday morning which was a great time for me so I would not have to take time off. I was very satisfied with my overall dealings. I felt as though the end price was a bit high, but NOT out of line. Also, I figure their warranty service would be better, if needed, as I don't see Sears Heating and Cooling going out of busines"

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Cascadia, OR

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
