"Mike was thorough, professional, and everything I could ask for in a contractor. He showed tremendous knowledge of the systems his company sells, their suitability to my house in particular, attentive to my concerns, and quick to bring rebates and other sales to my attention. If I had gone with a mini-split system, I would have used N.E.T.R. without a doubt. I remain very pleased with my interactions with Mike, even though they didn't result in a sale.

"NV Heating and Air Conditioning installed a Bosch heat pump in my home and removed the previous oil furnace. They did an excellent job throughout the entire process, including recommending the right heat pump for my home, providing clear guidance, assisting with the Mass Save rebate, and offering a very reasonable project cost. They were always available to answer questions, and the installation was seamless and efficiently completed. The Bosch heat pump has been running perfectly for the past two and a half months. I would highly recommend NV Heating and Air Conditioning for similar projects."

They were on time very friendly and knowledgeable about what they were doing. Start to finish they were done in 4 hours. They cleaned up any mess they made and removed the old furnace I can’t say enough good about David and his crew like I said 10 Stars ⭐️"

"Believing that furnace and central air conditioning systems have to be replaced, I asked Nick for an estimate. When he arrived, he diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He saved me a large amount of money. Easy to talk to, explained the issues in understandable terms. He came the same day I called. But if I have another problem, I would not mind waiting because I am confident he will do the job."

"This was a small job so I didn't think I would easily find someone to take it on. Bob responded fairly promptly to my first email and has been very responsive ever since we got into conversation about this project. We have a whole house music system with in-wall touch screens in several rooms. The original touch screens were starting to fail and the replacement screens have been downsized meaning that we had holes in our walls that were too big for the new screens we wanted to install. Bob helped us come up with a solution of maple panels large enough to cover the original holes with cut outs for the new screens. He took time to understand the problem, was willing to go the extra mile to make the solution not only effective but also esthetic. He bought the maple, fabricated the panels offsite to precision specs, beveled the edges to improve the look, and returned to install them. During installation, we recognized that nail holes would mar the look of the final product so again Bob came up with an innovative solution that allowed the panels to be firmly fixed to the wall without any visible nail holes.
I would use Bob again for handyman work. He is flexible and responsive.

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
