"I went on the internet this morning to find a HVAC repair business. After submitting a request, I almost immediately received a phone call to schedule a time for our furnace to be evaluated. An opening was available in the next hour. The technician, Dominque texted in advance and came promptly. He was very thorough in showing me the problems with both the furnace and the air conditioning unit. After discussion and quotes on cost, we have a workman coming tomorrow to repair it all. I am so impressed by the quick responses and action I have been given. Dominique was friendly and easy to talk with. He even took care of a DEAD MOUSE for me...now that's real service!"

"We had a HE gas furnace installed to replace a 20 yr old furnace which was failing on us. It was a cold week with temps in the 20's. We submitted a service request through Costco and someone from Superior met with us the next morning. With discounts the cost was less than a quote we received from a competitor and we ended up with one of the quietest 98% HE furnaces on the market. No more than 24 hrs later we had a HE furnace heating our home. The furnace was installed by two gentleman who put a lot of thought into the best way to install a HE appliance in a home that was built without such accommodation. They did a fast and great job and were very careful around our newly installed porcelain tile. A long jagged peice of textured ceiling-drywall was removed during install. Manuel did a great job of patching the ceiling and matched the texturing so it looks like it was always there. The job was performed by professionals who treated our home with respect and finished the job to meet our expectations."

"Kregg and his new coworker were both very professional and informative. They did a great job and explained anything that needed to be explained. They were very careful to not leave any mess and to protect our home from the inherent mess and risks of removing a furnace"

"The job took two days, but it was a big job. They had to uninstall the furnace, move it back 10 inches to be able to install the coil for the a/c unit. While at the same time pulling and replacing the old duct work with new insulated duct and redesigned the system for better airflow. The installers were on time, professional. Worked quickly, cleaned up their mess. I would used them again. My installation was expensive, but more do to what I had done and going with the higher end Train A/C unit.

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
