"We wanted the main waterline from house to street, and hot water heater replaced. After reading reviews, we chose Wisler Plumbing and Heating to do this work. Wisler reached out daily in advance to let us know who was coming to perform the work. Each employee we met was very professional, responsive, and diligent with their duties. Davey provided us with a quote for this work. Hats off to Matt for replacing the water heater! The waterline was a difficult project, due to the location. Adam and Wes did an outstanding job, excavating, replacing the water line, and for their work on restoring our yard. We will definitely use Wisler Plumbing and Heating again for any projects we may have in the future!"

"We moved to Lynchburg 30 years ago. We have used Woolridge since we moved. We added a second unit upstairs to help with A/C in the summer. We have a 2 heat pumps as well as a forced, warm air gas furnace. We've had to replace them once or twice, again using Woolridge. We have them do our twice-yearly check up & tune-up for all systems. We used them to put in a whole house generator 2 years ago. EVERYTHING Woolridge has done has been professionally installed, the semi annual tune-ups are always done by helpful courteous young professionals. They wear shoe covers in the house, masked up during Covid & are always prompt( if they run behind the office always calls to update us), they are thorough & efficient. They answer any questions & are, in our opinion Number One! I'm getting ready to call them after the ice & snow melts to add a hardwired baseboàrd unit in the kitchen. We recommend Wooldrige whole heartedly."

"The contractors from freedom heating and Air were very fast and efficient with their work. They came in and took a look at what needed to be done. Took about 5 to 10 minutes to go get the equipment they needed and in less than a hour they were done. My wife and I are very pleased with the choice of hiring them to fix a leaky pipe that was leading to our gas furnace and the price for doing the job was well in our budget."

Hello my name's Lewis haddox and I am a Handy man servicing the roanoke , salem va and surrounding areas. If you’re looking for someone who actually enjoys fixing the leaky faucet, diagnosing the weird noise from the furnace, and leaving a workspace cleaner than they found it—let’s talk. With over 10 years of hands-on handyman experience, I’ve seen it all. From sagging drywall and broken drawer slides to full property turnovers, I bring a can-do attitude and a toolbag full of solutions. But what really sets me apart is my HVAC certification. While most handymen have to call in a specialist, I’m the one who stays to fix the AC or troubleshoot the furnace. That saves you time, money.I take real pride in every job big or small and working for myself allows me to do even the smallest jobs most larger services wont.So next time you need help and want someone respectful, knowledgeable and will be there when scheduled till jobs completed give me a call.Always free estimates hope I can help.

"I was having ongoing problems with my furnace, and Keith Tilley and his crew worked on it several times until I finally realized it was time to replace it. Keith never pushed me to make that decision but was able to help me when I was ready. We set a date for the work to be done, which I changed at least twice, and I also asked him to look into a specific type of furnace that had been recommended to me. Keith told me what he found out about that particular unit but didn't recommend it even though it was more expensive. The gentleman who did the installation was on time the day the installation was scheduled. He completed the work in a reasonable amount of time, answered my questions, and showed me the things I needed to know about the new unit. He cleaned up his work area once he was done and took the old unit away. Not long after the work had begun, Keith called me to be sure everything was going well, and the man doing the work called Keith to ask him a question about the thermostat. I appreciated the fact that even though Keith wasn't doing the actual work, he took the time to check on things; I also liked the fact that when the man doing the work, I'm sorry I don't remember his name, had questions about the thermostat, he called Keith instead of trying to figure it out on his own, which could possibly have made the problem worse. All in all, this was a very positive experience, and I will continue to use Tilley Heating and Cooling.

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
