"The process was slow initially as I had to interview several HVAC before finding 3 who were willing to do the work. One was priced much too high and I didn't like the initial proposal of the placement of lines. Another contractor didn't fill me with confidence and they are part of a company that split off with different franchises (I believe). NETR's contact person, Russell, who evaluated the project was open to the idea as well as followed up with technical advice as this was a nonconforming application. After several reviews by NETR personnel and outside engineers to make sure there was enough airflow for the compressor, where and how to run the lines inside the loft; I had my carpenter build an aluminum box which took time as it was custom-ordered of sheets to be build on premises. After it was setup, NETR took over, evaluated the box, re-reviewed the plans, and subsequently sent 2 very competent techies. The job took 3 1/2 days which was fine with me. The last day a 3rd technician replaced one who had to go over to another job. They were polite and answered any questions I had. They left the place in clean condition. The system lines looks very nicely put together, works beautifully, cools the condo very nicely (remember 23 5' high windows w/plenty of solar gain). They subcontracted an experienced electrician who's expert workmanship convinced me that I will use him for future work. Terrific company who's customer service is conscientious and with good follow-through. Their abilities and experience revealed themselves in this application and I'm very grateful that they wanted to try out this nonconforming application as the only options left to me were window ACs which I find unsatisfactory, and in the bedroom impossible to sleep with while on.

"NV Heating and Air Conditioning installed a Bosch heat pump in my home and removed the previous oil furnace. They did an excellent job throughout the entire process, including recommending the right heat pump for my home, providing clear guidance, assisting with the Mass Save rebate, and offering a very reasonable project cost. They were always available to answer questions, and the installation was seamless and efficiently completed. The Bosch heat pump has been running perfectly for the past two and a half months. I would highly recommend NV Heating and Air Conditioning for similar projects."

"It was an expensive fix for a seemingly simple job but I trust Rodenhiser to do the job right the first time. I was disappointed that something broke on a relatively new furnace but it wasn't equipment Rodenhiser had installed or recommended so I can't fault them at all."

"I discovered Invicta HVAC on the mass save website. From the first contact, they were communicative and very attentive to my project. Extremely perfectionists did a beautiful job. I used to have an oil furnace as the only heat source and now we have a brand new heat pump with electric backup heat. Everything working fine. Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
