"Gil, RAF and Luis installed a new Lenox furnace/AC in my condo yesterday. They were here on time, worked quickly and were done earlier than I expected. All my interactions with them were informative and friendly and at the conclusion of the installation they took the time to show me, and explain to me what they had done. The new thermostat is a bit of a challenge, but they got me started in the setup process so that I could complete it. Before they left they thoroughly cleaned the areas they had worked in and traveled through. You will be very fortunate if you get this crew to install your new furnace."

"It went very well! Dylan was knowledgeable about removing our old oil burner that had died, and installing the new heat pump unit! The work was done in a timely fashion and he removed the old heater and cleaned up everything from the new install. He also followed up after a few days to make sure everything was okay, which it was. I would recommend Venture Mechanical to anyone of my friends, and will use them in the future for routine servicing on the system and for any other HVAC needs I may have!"

"Ross, the owner, was very professional and responsive. We had to replace a shorted circuit board in the furnace, caused by mice in the ac chewing wires. Ross was able to replace the ac just prior to a heat wave. I would highly recommend Urban Heating and Cooling. We won't hesitate to call them again."

Customers say: True professional

"Our heater stopped working around 7 pm during the night, last Feb 2026. We had no heat for the whole night so it was really cold inside the house the next day. To our relief, Mark was able to come out the very next day in the morning. Mark checked and tested numerous devices on the furnace. He explained everything that he was doing while repairing the furnace. He was here for only an hour and got our heat going again. He's friendly and trustworthy. He is our Plumber and we call him for any problem. His rates are reasonable. We highly recommend him. We live in Brockton 02301."

"I recently experienced a problem with my heat pump unit. These units are very specific to the area they fit in and how they hook up. There are not a lot of options. I was told that I needed to replace it for over $7000 but while obtaining add'l quotes, the salesperson (Peter) from Majic Air came in and let me know the unit did not need to be replaced. The very next day I got an early morning appt and the technician (Chris) showed up on time and quickly determined it was the motor on my fan. For a FRACTION of the cost I now have a very cool house again. Of course, the 70 degree weather came but it's running and ready for the next heat wave."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Sagamore Beach, MA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
