"I called on Saturday for an emergency visit because my furnace stopped working. Adam was very responsive and scheduled a visit in 2 hours. The technician Jeff arrived on time and was professional and knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the system and fixed the problem. He even left me a fuse just in case the board gets overloaded again in the middle of the night. The emergency rate was reasonable. Overall a great experience. Would definitely use them again!"

"Chris was quick to respond to our request for a quote for a new furnace. We had requested quotes from several other companies and most didn't respond, call back or show up when they said they would. He was very friendly & knowledgeable. He sent us a quote the same day. We are very happy with our choice to have CMA Heating & Air install our new furnace. We would highly recommend him!"

He explained my unit was in approaching its last days but he could attempt to repair it if I wished but I decided it was time to do a complete new heating & cooling system & he made it a easy process. No pressure & no stress. Now we’re ready for the heat wave that’s apon on us. Thank you Dylan & your team for your professionalism & great service. I highly recommend & they’re my go to for plumbing as well as I’m about to have them replace my hot water tank before it becomes an issue"

"I called them for a no heat issue. Pete came right out because I had no heat. They saw the old a/c unit had leaked into the furnace and burnt it out. He told me that I would need a new furnace so I told him he better just put in a new a/c unit as well. He said he would have it in two days and he did exactly what he said. They showed up on time and they were done with the whole system in a matter of a few hours. They noticed some other issues with the old system that needed to be fixed like the intake. They did a really great job."

"I used Angi's to get bids for installing a 4-head mini-split system while undergoing a kitchen remodel. Thankfully, Angi's was a reliable referral source, and I got 6 companies bidding. Cassana wasn't the cheapest, but Phillip, the owner struck me as earnest and reliable. He made several recommendations for my house's set up, and his crew was diligent and professional. Within 3-1/2 days, I was up and running. He was great to deal with, professional, and let me know of a previously unknown incentive rebate that save me some $3,000 on the job! No worries, and a great company to dela with--I liked them much better than some of the 'big firms' with high overhead and pressured sales practices."

"When called to check our aged boiler, David S. arrived that within hours. When a flow valve exploded in his hand (OUCH!), he calmly and stoically arranged for a new heating system to be installed the next day. Aaron and Nate were prompt and thoroughly professional. Aaron, in particular, took the time to answer questions and provided clear information for the new system's operation. We've always been pleased with ARSBoston's service for our A/C system; it is VERY comforting to know that they will be servicing this new gas boiler for years to come. The quick response and remedy provided by ARSBoston will never be forgotten; we are truly grateful!"

"The heating system we have is complicated and Scott had to spend a great deal of time troubleshooting. He did not charge us for all the time he spent doing so. Scott was very professional and we would certainly hire him again."
Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
