"This is a follow up to my new heat pump installation in 12/2022. Everything is working great. The variable stage heat pump costs more, but it is much better than my old, basic single stage. The air handler was in my office closet, so I spent the day working from home with them working in the same room. Funny and honest techs...I actually enjoyed seeing the entire install while doing my own work. I highly recommend them!"

"Extreme Heating and Air Conditioning installed an 18 SEER HVAC system with zone control for me. I am very pleased with the results and performance of the system - far better than the previous system WRT air flow balance. All personnel were very knowledgeable and professional and I highly recommend this company. Thanks to Tristan, Brett, Ryan, Joe, Paul and special thanks to Dave and Tyler for working through some parts failures. I am very pleased."

"Riley did a great job on a new gas furnace and air conditioner install. I was very impressed from start to finish. He was on time, professional and answered every one of my questions. My system was about 15 years old and I have had to put some money into over the years. I used several other companies during that time and none of them, I mean absolutely none of them, compared to the process I just went through with TrueTemp Heating and Cooling. Everything from the service call, to the consultation process and the installation of my new HVAC equipment was top notch. Can?t recommend this experience enough! Thanks TrueTemp!"

"Jonathan, the owner, was very thorough and knowledgeable when he came out to quote on replacing our 26 year old furnace. We compared Universal Heating to 2 other local companies and he was more affordable for an even better system than the others quoted. We are very happy with the work they did."

"

The next morning I receive a call from "Jake" from Wells, very courteous and prompt. Jake looked at the heat exchanger with a camera, he found no holes anything that looked abnormal. Jake than worked to free up the part that was "frozen " and kept the blower motor from working at  all. After Jake freed the part up and checked out the whole furnace. After turning on the furnace, everything kicked in as it should. Jake than checked for any carbon monoxide on his meter, with a zero reading after 10 mins. I was so thrilled.....they were honest and did what they said they were going to do, of course with safety in mind. I have a new carbon monoxide detector for safety's sake. Wells did not try to automatically sell me a furnace just because I have an older furnace. I know who I will call for any service or when I need a new furnace.

They saved me 3200.00. If you want competent, honesty,  integrity and professional company to work on your furnace, call Wells Heating and Cooling in Dayton, Ohio

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Troy, OH

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
