"Affordable Heating and Cooling did an amazing job installing my new split system on New Years Eve!! Dave the owner, was in constant communication with me from start to finish and was meticulous with all aspects of the project. They were very neat and cleaned everything back to the way it looked before the project began. A pleasure to work with and he even gave me a bunch of free advise about other aspects of my nearly 100 year old heating system. They will be my first call if I have any other heating or cooling needs!"

"Eric came and supervised the entire job. The installers were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. It was by far the best price we could find. Every step of the way, if they ran into a problem, they addressed it without complaint and with professionalism and efficiency. They had to cut out pieces of our walls in order to access the drain lines and were incredibly generous by saving the pieces and getting a person to come and patch the drywall without an extra charge. Now all we have to do is paint. They also cleaned up incredibly well. I am not exaggerating when I say Eric was washing the floor with a cloth on his hands and knees. We have had so many problems with this HVAC system because we inherited a badly installed low quality system and I'm so relieved to now have a high quality professionally done system with a warranty in hand! Thank you so much Joytech. I would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a professional HVAC installation."

"The team at Green Ductors were hired to clean my dryer vent system. They also did a full review of the system end to end, and alerted me to a number of legitimate issues and hazards with my current setup. They itemized everything that I should do in regards to future improvements and did not wrap their job until removing and replacing some hazardous and flammable plastic venting that a different service provider had installed."

"Anthony was so helpful to us. As new homeowners, we really were not sure about the workings of our heating system. As he was servicing our system, he kindly let us observe and ask lots of questions. He was very efficient and was able to get our system up and running. We would highly recommend Anthony and will be contacting him again for any plumbing needs we have in the future."

"Prompt, competent, fast, and affordable. Had the necessary components right in his truck, so no waiting for a run to the hardware store. Restored power to our boiler so we could have heat again!"
Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
