"Premier HVAC did site visit and service in same day, working well into the evening and did great work. Two guys (Slava and Rod) worked very hard in the heat and were really personable, cleaned up everything and did great work."

"Affordable Heating and Cooling did an amazing job installing my new split system on New Years Eve!! Dave the owner, was in constant communication with me from start to finish and was meticulous with all aspects of the project. They were very neat and cleaned everything back to the way it looked before the project began. A pleasure to work with and he even gave me a bunch of free advise about other aspects of my nearly 100 year old heating system. They will be my first call if I have any other heating or cooling needs!"

"I am incredibly pleased with the mini-split heat pump installation provided by this company. After a disappointing experience with a single unit installed by a solo technician, I decided to trust this company for entire house. Their installation team was impressive, and their after-service exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this company to anyone in need of heat pump installation services."

Small jobs welcome

"Ariel Diaz at Androm HVAC, was very responsive from start through finish with installing a new air handling system in our house. He arrived the very next day following our initial call and got our old a/c working until the new one could be installed, which was a relief with the hot weather. He was kind and explained our options and what was needed. He provided a detailed estimate up front. We appreciated Ariel's professionalism and his efforts to complete the job in a timely fashion. We would definitely recommend him to others."

"The team at Green Ductors were hired to clean my dryer vent system. They also did a full review of the system end to end, and alerted me to a number of legitimate issues and hazards with my current setup. They itemized everything that I should do in regards to future improvements and did not wrap their job until removing and replacing some hazardous and flammable plastic venting that a different service provider had installed."

"Anthony and his Assistant Mel, were very helpful at breaking down and assessing the situation with our boiler return line. I really appreciated that he took the time to explain everything to my mother and I. There were some other issues he saw with our boiler that he advised us on to help us prepare in anticipation of the attention it needed. My mother and I really appreciate his honestly, effectiveness, and prioritization of our issue. We would not have heat if it was not for him. Thank you for the outstanding service!"

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Williamsbridge, NY

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
