"It went very well. The consultant came out the next day we called and we figured out the ductless system was the way to go for our log home. The old system was not working as it should and we just bought this home and didn’t want to keep putting money in and old system that wasn’t up to date for the square footage. The installers we very good at there job and very nice. We recommend them 100 %. Great job and very happy with it. Have had it for a month now and such a warm house now. "The team was very helpful with identifying the issue with our heating system and providing guidance on how to proceed. We replaced the entire system (which was 10 years old). Very happy with the end result. The air is so much cleaner and my son's allergies have significantly reduced."

"I have used this family own business for three different jobs. They put in a brand new system in my place of business, They replaced my heat pump at my primary residence and they replaced my heat pump and ductwork at my cabin. All of the jobs were done very professionally, and the price was reasonable. I will continue to use them for all of my heating and AC needs. Matt and his sons are great."

"My 30-year-old furnace failed on a Monday with night temps at 10 degrees. Elemental came out that day and tried to service the unit. It was unserviceable with a cracked heat exchanger. The salesperson came out at 10:00 PM at night to provide a quote for replacement. The service tech also stayed until he arrived. They didn't try to oversell beyond the equivalent of the existing unit. They replaced the entire furnace and AC units (connected) on that Wednesday (my request). I was worried that I would be overcharged given my immediate need. However, it was just the opposite. After talking with friends and neighbors who had to replace their units in the last few years, as well as a relative in the HVAC field, Elemental's price was extremely fair and reasonable. Everyone involved (repair tech, salesperson, installers) were very professional, prompt and knew their trade. I could not be more pleased with the experience and result. Assuming maintenance support will be of the same quality."

"Initially I was skeptical not knowing what to expect from SwiftPro because I had never used them before. They sure did surprise me with their professionalism and expertise in installing a new TRANE HVAC system in my home. Not only was the work excellent, but it was also done in a timely manner and to my full satisfaction. As an extra bonus, the new filtering system they put in actually helped in reducing my pollen allergies noticeably. Thank you Tyler, Moises, and Oscar for doing a top-notch job. If I ever need HVAC service again, i know who to call!!"

"I hired Tom Noland about 22 yrs ago to put a heating and air conditioner system in my house in Nokesville. He did a great job back then. When I moved to Delaplane I contacted Tom and his company again to do some work on my house. I wanted a geothermal heating system in and they were willing to do it, but as Tom explained the new systems out there I would get a better deal going in a different direction. Sean and Matt and all the other guys who have come out to do the install of the new hvac system , hot water heater, pressure tank and generator have been great. They arrive on time they have gone the extra step to make everything go as smoothly as possible. Every guy here has been conscientious about making sure any dust or debris doesnâ t get on my carpets. The hvac system, pressure tank and hot water heater are in. The hvac system works so well that have the temperature raises seven degrees above where I had my other unit at, because it works so efficiently. I would hire them again if I needed some work done. The price is worth it."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Winchester, VA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
