"ARS stands by their word! Customer satisfaction and a good quality of work is important to them. They will do whatever it takes to correct any customer or equipment issues. Mark is an amazing HVAC technician. He knows his stuff and has proven to be trustworthy in his heating/cooling system knowledge and repairs. When I had a recent burdensome furnace ignitor issue arise. ARS was as puzzled as I was. They assured me that they would do what it took to identify and troubleshoot the problem. They did just that!!! I thanks ARS for their loyalty to good and honest customer service!"

"I feared needing an entire new furnace, but tech replaced capacitor quickly and furnace worked all winter without problems. No additional cost for coming on a Saturday. Only regret was not calling Friday evening when the problem started. Called Saturday morning and problem solved by early afternoon."

"My friend recommended Sullivan, so I had them do a furnace inspection and repair an installation problem from a handyman. Went great. So when the furnace started shutting off, I called Sullivan again. The guy said it was a fuse. He replaced the fuse, charged me $95 and left. Half an hour later, it failed again. He came back again, replaced the fuse again and told me it definitely wasn't the furnace and that I needed an electrician. My general contractor for some other work sent another furnace company over and they fixed it in five minutes (it was the furnace) and told me why it could not possibly have been a fuse or an electrical problem. So I called Sullivan back because they guarantee satisfaction and asked for my money back since it was not what they said and because they left me sitting here in 10 degree weather with no heat. They said they'd call me back about the refund. They didn't."

"Wow! We laughed about how my new furnace moved me into the 21st century. And I added central air...all for a reasonable amount. The contractor explained the pros and cons of what was available and we came upon a great heating & cooling system. I felt bad they had to work so hard to remove the old furnace but they were professional throughout. I absolutely love my lower utility bills!"

"Sean is the best!!! He was on time, very professional and great prices. Sean went above and beyond with my a/c and have installation. Prior to installation of heating and a/c he had replaced some vents and a rusted piece of pipe in my basement. Sean is very conscientious about his work and leaves the place very neat. I highly reccomend Temp-Rite Heating for your next service or replacement of HVAC & A/C"

"Matt from Home Mechanix came to fix a problem with our aging natural gas furnace. Despite a difficult troubling shooting effort, he was able to find new parts and repair the problem in just a few days. He was personable, on-time, and charged us a fair price."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Allison Park, PA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
