"I recently used PHR A/C and Heating for maintenance and was very impressed with their service. From the moment I called, their customer service team was polite and helpful in scheduling my appointment. The technician Erick arrived on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. They quickly diagnosed the issue with my AC and explained my options clearly. The repair was done efficiently, and I noticed an immediate improvement in how well my system is running. Their pricing was competitive, and there were no surprise charges. Overall, I’m very satisfied and will definitely use them again for any future AC needs. Highly recommend!"

"I put out a posting for an AC not cooling the house. Scott called me so fast I barely could answer the phone, and showed up just as fast. Scott came out and checked out my system, explained everything very thoroughly to me and gave me options for solutions without being pushy. Very professional, thorough, and polite. Will hire again! Thanks Scott!"

"If you are looking for new A/C systems - look no further. The team at Enoch is the best I’ve ever seen. I have never seen a large HVAC vendor that the owner of the company came out to do the original walk through. Miles (the owner) is professional and extremely knowledgeable. Not only was his bid incredibly competitive - he also notice that we wanted to have two crews to handle the large home project we had done for new A/C and furnace solutions. The work was done all in one day and they spend extra time cleaning up after all the work was done. Then the next day Miles called me back to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. If you are getting bids for new AC systems - you must have Enoch come out and give you a bid. I rank them a 10 out of 10. The best I’ve ever seen."

"I didn't want to replace my furnace and A/C unit, but Louis explained to me that the parts were not available for the equipment anymore. I was more or less aware of that. He gave me a good price for replacing the system, got the work done in one day. I am very pleased with his work."

"Blower stopped working. More cost effective to get new furnace than to repair blower. Lots of options and price points to choose from. Promptly came out and replaced furnace the next day."

"These guys are amazing - the temperature plummeted to the 20s last November (2018) I woke up Friday morning and my house was 40 degrees - my 30 year old furnace had rolled over and died! Found Allgood on Home Advisor they were out the same day trouble shooting, explaining what I needed to know in language I could understand and assisting with financing. Apparently my failing heating system and ruined the central air unit as well. They were out the next day johnny-on-the-spot (the Saturday before Thanksgiving!) pulled out all the old and hauled it ALL away, installed the new and had me up and running by dinner time. As of today 5/11/2018 they have returned as they promised for a follow-up check and maintenance visit. They take their work seriously - my house was never this comfortable with my old units - I understand now it's all about balance.... and a great company."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Friendswood, TX

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
