"We first recommended them to my father-in-law. We had a very good experience with them. The cost was very reasonable. We were extremely pleased with them. They did a very good job. They are very trustworthy too. In fact, I would just go with them again. If I had any more heating and air situation or even if I just wanted it get cleaned, I would just go back with them because you want to stay with someone you can trust and they are trustworthy."

"Glenn Julian, the owners son, arrived within the expected time window. He allowed me to watch as he explained the various tests of the air conditioning that he was doing and he also described some of the previous experiences he has had with air conditioning systems. He seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. He finished the air conditioning maintenance check within one hour. We plan to call Julian's Heat & AC again in the fall when we need to have the heating system maintenance check done. Thank you Julian's Heat and AC for a great job done!"

"I reviewed several HVAC companies on Angies List and based on the number of reviews and content of the reviews I selected Brower Mechanical. The technicians arrived within the time window provided by the service dept. They called 15 minutes prior to arrival. I received a friendly greeting and handshake by both techs. They listened patiently while I provided a brief history of the unit, age and previous troubles/problems. They seemed appreciative of the information and went about their business. After completing the unit inspection and service they inspected the ducts and found four that, in their opinion, need replacing. I have been in the attic before and their inspection confirmed what I had seen earlier. We discussed a recurring problem I have had with the inducer vacuum nipple becoming plugged. The technician made some suggestions that could be implemented when and if I decide to replace a noisy inducer motor.
At this time I have made an appointment to have the four ducts replaced. While making this appointment I mentioned how satisfied I was with the technician that performed the inspection/service and was asked if I would like to have this technician assigned for future service visits. I, of course jumped at the idea. I find this action very refreshing and a legitimate sign/trait of a company that is focused on complete customer satisfaction.

"I have an old house. For a long time I was looking for someone who could change the ventilation system not for crazy money. Finally found it. The guys replaced the entire ventilation system and installed a new heat pump. The work was done the next day after approval. The quality is excellent, the price is very, very reasonable. I was surprised to learn that the guys had an engineering education. Highly recommend!"

"Before doing job, they performed a thermal inspection showing all the air leaks from construction seams of the skylights, spotlight canisters and vaulted ceilings. All the air gaps were sealed before adding the eco-friendly insulation and improving thermal efficiency. After job we noticed improved air tightness of house and less cycling of hvac systems and lower utility bills."
You will never look at your home the same when you see what "Stack and Draft” is doing to waste energy.
Window Replacement
When you heat your home the hot air rises and begins to “Stack” pressure on the ceiling until it finds an escape route around the many holes hidden in the construction where walls and light fixtures meet the ceiling. The hot air leaking creates a draft by pulling in cold air from outside.
Window Replacement
The more you turn up your thermostat, the more "Stack" is applied to the ceiling, accelerating the icy cold "Draft" right behind it.

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in North Highlands, CA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
