"Joe did a wonderful job replacing our ac and heating system. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the installation. We highly recommend Joe for all your heating and a/c needs. If I could rate him a ten that would be more accurate. Tom Syracuse,"

"Dave and Josh are top notch professional. I have been heating my home with a wood stove for 40 years. They took their time to explain the differences between a gas furnace and a heat pump and what would be best for my home. I received estimates from 3 other companies. What stood out was that McCool understood the efficiency of the equipment they were using, and what was involved to install it. Their prices were substantially lower than the other three. They showed up the day they promised and finished the day they promised. My house did not have existing duct work so they installed duct work and the gas furnace. Josh and Dave worked efficiently and cleaned up every day. When finished they explained how the system worked and installed a programmable thermostat to save on my energy bill. I would highly recommend them"

"Ricky’s Heating and Cooling were a pleasure to work with. They could come out the same day we called, were honest on what our best options were, and were reasonably priced. There was a replacement part we needed for our furnace, and they were able to go get the part and come back the next morning to install it. No issues at all. Highly recommend!"

"They replaced my central air conditioning and hot water heater. Great process, good people. Very patient, answered all my questions (I was an engineer, so you know there were a lot of specific and obscure questions). Not the lowest price, but when it comes to making sure that the job was done correctly (and excellently) the first time, they were very well worth it!"

"Brian is very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous to work with. He installed a new heat pump for heat and air conditioning in a new addition of my house. He was easy to contact, promptly stopped out to make a plan for what I needed installed and had a quote within a day or two. During his installation he was easy to work with and showed a deep understanding of all things HVAC. He even stopped out multiple times to ensure there were no leaks after the installation was completed. I would highly recommend After Hours HVAC for any heating and cooling needs. Brian also services my furnace, propane stove, and heat pump every fall. I have recommended Brian to many friends and family members and they have also become happy customers."

"Don came out and looked at our microwave as it was not heating. He told us that the part would be expensive to replace and that we were better off money wise getting a new one. He offered to return and install it once we purchased a new one at no charge! Couldnât have asked for a better experience."
Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
