I installed a window in the mud room and when I removed the paneling in the wall to cut the hole for the window, I found unexpected voids in the wall from the previous work. I also put up a stud wall in the west of the mud room. My original plan was to fully insulate with foam the mud room because it was the only room in the house left exposed to outside temperature changes. I expected to pay fully for the work.

The employees are excited about their product and that excitement I picked up on at the Home Show, where I was introduced to foam installation as a retrofit option. The cost was reasonable and I expect to pay less in gas and electricity for heating and cooling over the next few years.

"The only reason we have them is because of the air conditioner and we know at some point it is going to go. Hopefully we will get it covered under that. I am not crazy with the type of people they send out, and the fact that you can?t use anything else until you?ve had them look at it, if you want it to be under their insurance. 

With that being said, we usually try to call them first and if it turns out it is either going to be a super long wait time and we can?t wait, or like the first insurance issue with the hot water leak, they was called right away, the vendor in every single review on Yelp & Angie?s List were terrible. 

So, it?s like if that is the kind of people you are sending out! So anyway, as far as the air conditioner goes, if they don't cover it appropriately, then we will be dropping them, it wouldn?t be worth it.

The guy wasn?t bad, he was honest. He didn?t really give us a price on it, other than the visit call. It?s one way to cover large expenses, but just like any of these home warranty plans, they will do whatever they can to get out of it. "
