Plain and simple, go with Rick and 1st Rate Construction. As a homeowner, I HAVE struggled to find companies where the person that quotes the work, is the person that does the work. Rick is the owner-operator of his company and will be your point of contact/work the job. He removed lead paint windows and soffit/fascia for me, and some asbestos ductwork. All great work. Thanks Rick !
Great overall experience
Great work ethic !
I needed a home out of state to have some mold and mildew removed. Along with some other projects he offered to help with. Dan was quick to reply to my request and kept me informed throughout the process. The job was done quicker than expected. I was very pleased with his fabulous customer service and detailed billing. Highly recommend. Thanks!
Hank is the owner of CWI and has a ton of experience in this asbestos testing and sampling area. He was informative, honest and the turn around time was fantastic. Would highly recommend CWI for any commercial or residential asbestos testing projects.
They completed the job ahead of schedule and on budget. Cleaned up everything before they left. I am thrilled with the work they did and highly recommend them. Thank you!

Asbestos is a mineral known for its flame-retardant and insulation abilities, and it’s found in some construction materials and systems. However, asbestos is very dangerous when inhaled over long periods, and is proven to cause significant health risks, including asbestosis, lung disease, and mesothelioma.
Asbestos was used in many homes built before the 1980s. People who live in older homes may risk asbestos exposure from flooring, pipes, ceiling tiles, and insulation. While asbestos is not fully banned in the United States, most newer homes were not made with asbestos-containing materials.
If you suspect that your home contains asbestos, hire a local asbestos abatement professional to test for the presence of asbestos. While DIY at-home asbestos test kits are available, it’s safer to hire a professional to minimize the risk of exposure to the potentially dangerous materials.
Most mold removal professionals charge about $10 to $25 per square foot. However, factors like the mold’s location, size, and type can impact the cost of removal services.
Some home insurance policies will cover mold remediation costs, but only under certain circumstances. For example, some insurance policies will only cover the cost of mold removal if it’s the result of a covered claim, such as a burst pipe. Check your home insurance policy to determine whether it covers this type of service.
