"This is the second time I have used this company. I have a very large hall with a 14 ft. ceiling that needed painting. Not only did they finish the job on time they did an excellent work. "I took a chance and hired Mr. Handyman to fix my storm door. Kevin removed the door, worked his magic and reinstalled the door, and now it closes properly. I asked him if he did electrical work I needed a pagoda fixture that was in the ground near my driveway moved in about 3 feet. He dug a trench and installed the new pagoda fixture. I needed some wooden spindles from my deck reinstalled. He not only reinstalled them but reinforced all the spindles and also the railing. He was here for 5 hours. This is a great company...they sent an email with a picture of Kevin with his bio.A little pricy, they charge by the hour, but everything that needed fixing was fixed."

"I was really impressed with the level of Brian and Michael's professionalism and integrity which is almost impossible to find nowadays and the way they approached my project, I knew I could trust them. I had a water leak from my second floor into my kitchen and hired them to repair the ceiling and wall after the plumber fixed a major leak. My kitchen cabinets also had to be reinstalled after the drywall repair. They did a perfect job of restoring my kitchen. i also asked them to take a look a my back yard deck which needed some support repair and not expecting this to be handled right away they actually fixed the deck in a matter of a few hours. - How long have you been in business? A long business history helps you avoid shoddy companies. It’s hard for a service business to stay in business if they don’t do good work.
- Are you licensed and insured? Not all states require a license for painting homes, but many do. Always use one that’s insured.
- Do you belong to any professional organizations? You’ll find many online, like the Painting Contractors Association or the Finishing Contractors Association?
- Do you have other work I can look at? Always check a portfolio or, in the case of painters, it’s better to look at work they did a few years ago to see how well it’s held up.
- How long will the job take? Get a rough estimate but get it in writing.
- How many people are in your crew? This is especially important if you work remotely. More people generally means more noise, but they’ll be done faster.
- Will I be in the way if I’m home during the painting? You usually won’t be in the way, but this question helps you understand what to expect while they’re working. They’ll need to lay down coverings and do a lot of prep work.
- Do you guarantee your work? Never hire a painter who doesn’t guarantee their work. This often means they’ll rush the prep work, since peeling never happens right away.
- What type of paint do you use, and how long is it rated to last? Different rooms need different paint and the exterior needs exterior paint. It comes in different grades with different guaranteed lifetimes.
