Customers say: True professional

"Overall the work was great and our cabinets turned out exactly as we had hoped. By the time we scheduled Neil, he had a backlog of approximately a month and was able to begin the work toward the end of May. Neil was able to get our cabinet boxes painted in two visits. On his second visit, he brought some of the painted doors, and noticed that the color was a little more red than the boxes. He took the doors back, and worked with his paint supplier to get everything right, and was able to get door color matched perfectly. Yes, we had some extra time without cabinet doors, but in the end it was absolutely worth it. Everything looks great, and Neil was great throughout the process. We would definitely recommend Neil to anyone looking to have this work done in their home."

"The entire process of having my deck and window medallion painted by Image Works was extremely positive. Everyone who helped me with this painting project was very professional and helpful. Kaylyn in customer service, Nate who came out and gave me the quote, Rick who did the power washing, Rege who helped me choose paint color and Max who did the painting all were wonderful! I highly recommend Imagine Works this is my second time using them and I will continue to use them for my painting needs."

Small jobs welcome

"Nick was kind, detailed, and communicative. The trifecta of any contractor you want to hire. He painted the entire inside of our house and did a spectacular job. He updated me on his progress throughout the project, and was straightforward about all of his pricing. I would hire Nick again and I HIGHLY recommend him. A+"

"Tom did an awesome job painting my metal awning. I was first quoted by someone else for an outrageous price because he said he needed to build scaffolds to paint it. Tom was my second quote. He took detailed measurements, broke down all costs, and took the time to explain everything. He also did not need scaffolds. He is extremely fair with his pricing, attentive to detail, and great with his recommendations. My metal awning looks brand new. I would definitely call Tom for my next project and recommend him to someone else."

FAQs for painting projects in Cranberry Township, PA

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
