"This is the second time we've used Buckeye House Painting. Both jobs were to paint the downstairs living area, stairwell, and upstairs hallway. They did a great job in both cases. They moved and covered all the furniture, patched holes, painted, and moved everything back. They also provided all materials. Both jobs were completed in 1 day."

"Freddie and his team did a fantastic job painting our main level and basement areas. We are going through a major remodeling job. His team ensured all areas were sanded smooth and all the paint was excellent. They kept the work areas clean and were very professional. Special thank you to his employee Brian who worked on our home throughout the process. We highly recommend Nunez painting."

"We couldn't be more pleased with our inside and outside painting projects done by Five-Star Painting. Larry and his team did a fantastic job staining t he cedar siding of our old house and updating batton board and painting the stucco on our new house. It seemed their pleasure to take care of all the details and help us on our timeline. They even came back out later to finish so as not to disturb baby birds. We will recommend them again and again."

"The painting was done on time. Painted aluminum siding. Include power washing Because of sun heat on front portion of house the paint blistered. But not noticeable from the street. They did a very good job and cleaned up the site"

"CertaPro will be performing the work in three stages: power washing siding where needed, replacing wood trim where needed, and painting all exterior trim on house. Power washing was done yesterday and we were extremely pleased. They did a "soft wash" to avoid damaging siding and it turned out perfect. The two people who did the power washing were very professional and friendly. They were also very committed to doing a good job and were proud of the way it looked. It's nice to find people who take pride in their work and are not just going through the motions. So far, very pleased with CertaPro."

"I recently had Iron Buck Paint the outside trim of my home and a bedroom. They do a great job of not only painting but cleaning up and having the area ready to use. They are great about getting you schedule and getting the job done in a timely manor. I would recommend them to my neighbors and friends."

"I would like to thank SprayNet of Northern Columbus for helping us finish the last phase of fixing up the outside of my stepfather’s house. They helped us by completely stripping and painting the outside of his house from top to bottom. We could not be happier as they did an outstanding job to make sure that everything was stripped and cleaned before applying a fresh coat of paint to everything. Being that my stepfather’s house was built in the 1930’s, they had a lot of hard work ahead of them. I really appreciate their hard work ethic and dedication to make sure that everything was painted and sealed. We will definitely be considering them when we paint the inside too. Although my stepfather wanted to keep the same colors in respect to my mom. Here are some before and after picture’s of their superb workmanship. Thanks again for all your help. We highly recommend SprayNet and will be reaching out to them again. Thanks, Jeff"

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
