"We had a great experience. Fast, friendly and very responsive. We love the final result. We had a slight issue on the color (my fault) but it was handled so well. Juan truly wants you to love the final result and will be with you every step of the way. Iâ m confident youâ ll like working with GM painting!"

"They did an excellent job of painting our kitchen cabinets and they now look great in creame instead of stained wood. They did all of the work in one week. They cleaned up the work site at the end of the job. Arrived punctually each day and had good communication with us on a daily basis."

"Nine years ago I was impressed with Brett's work and again hired him to paint the house exterior. He and his crew are professionals who pay attention to detail and are timely in getting the job done. Brett includes in his quote fixing minor dry rot problems and, in our case, found some major panel delamination and directed us to a contractor with experience fixing this type of damage. Brett will return to paint this once it gets fixed. Importantly, Brett uses top quality paint and products and includes in his quote using a special peel-stop paint over areas that are problematic in this regard. All windows, sidewalks, decks, landscaping, etc. were protected from drips or over spray. After they finished the place was cleaner than before!! We found Brett organized, on time, and his quote fairly priced."

"Flex Painting was incredibly professional and performed great work. Our home was in desperate need of stucco repair, window trim replacement, and paint and they were able to do that and more. After our kitchen contractors abandoned our window replacements, Flex paint stepped in and got the job done! Bayardo even stopped by for one last walk through after we were satisfied with the work just to touch up spots he was not personally satisfied with. I would highly recommend their services and will be using them again when we are ready to skim coat our bedrooms as they are by far the most reliable contractors we have hired throughout our home renovation."
Before pictures
(Before Pic)Home was pressure washed with a 3000 psi machine to remove as much dirt and grime from the exterior house wall surfaces before painting. We sanded all the bad areas and spot primed them before painting. Used caulking to seal any open grooves and open wood joints as needed.
(Before l) This photo shows the condition of the cabinet before it was refinished. You can see the stain is faded and clear coat is chipping away from water damage and moisture in the air.
Exterior Repaint
Prepped the door for painting. Sanded it then primed it. Removed the door handle and carefully covered the hinges before spray painting the door.

FAQs for painting projects in Dublin, CA

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
