"I can't say enough about the amazing job Cliff Stuart Interior Painting did with our complete interior house paint job. Cliff and his crew took the time to carefully remove all the lighting, windows, and electrical hardware in each of the rooms (and replaced at the end), repaired all the holes and damaged areas, and then hand painted primer and two coats of paint on all the walls, trim, and ceilings. This 31 year old house now looks as good as any of the new build model homes! We're so pleased with how it turned out. Cliff is a professional and shows up when he says he'll be there, takes care of the house during the process as if it were his own, and provides sage recommendation on the things you never even considered when you started the process. You get what you pay for and I believe I got everything I was hoping to receive and then some. You can find cheaper spray on paint companies out there, but I'm VERY satisfied with our results from hiring Cliff and his team!"

"I am retired military and am used to "attention to detail". Kind Home Painting Company did not disappoint. From the moment Jeff stopped by to tell us about their company, to the end of the painting, I found everyone along the journey to be very professional with much attention to detail. I have had my house painted several times, and Kind Homes is the best! Definitely, if you are in the market for a paint job, I highly recommend this company. Jeff managed the project and he and his supervisor, Kurt, came by frequently to inspect the progress. They have a great paint crew...Daniel Ford"

"Tony removed the wallpaper from my entry way, down the hallway and up the stairs to the second floor and painted the walls. He had all the right equipment and plenty of â KNOW HOWâ to get the job done. He is easy to deal with and very polite. He cares about his work and his main goal is to have a satisfied customer. I would recommend Tony."

Small jobs welcome

"Micah did an outstanding job with staining our new deck, painting all interior doors, baseboards and door trim. The quality of the work was excellent. Micah made sure everything was protected and cleaned up everything after the job was done. He was on time, maintained good communication and was very easy to work with. I am extremely happy with the end result and will definitely call Fox Painting again for other paint projects. Thank you, Micah!"

Customers say: True professional

"I hired Corey with Encompass for an interior painting project in my home, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results! From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Corey was professional, punctual, and incredibly detail-oriented. He took the time to understand my vision and offered valuable suggestions that enhanced the overall look of my space. The quality of the work is outstanding; the lines are crisp, and the colors are perfect. He ensured that everything was meticulously prepared before painting, protecting my furniture and floors, which I truly appreciated. What stood out the most was his commitment to cleanliness, everything was always left clean and tidy. I highly recommend Corey with Encompass to anyone looking for a skilled and trustworthy painter. "Clair was a delight to work with. Our son had picked a mural that he wanted painted on his bedroom wall and at first I doubted we would find anyone to do it. Clair loved the image and made the whole process easy for us. Her price was comparable to others I had spoken with and she did a really great job."

FAQs for painting projects in Elizabeth, CO

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
