"Nashville Painting Company was very easy to work with from start to finish. I had never done this type of thing before. They were right in line with several other estimates I had gotten on the project, and Chance, who came out to do the estimate, took his time, listened, gave me input, and was never pushy at all. From the time I called and told him I wanted to go with Nashville Painting, until we signed the contract, I had made several changes and he never once lost his sense of humor ( though he did take a short vacation and I wonder if it was because of me lol). Next came Brittney, who got me on the schedule, was ordering the paint when I gave her my color choices, and taking care of my account. Once again, an extremely nice person and very efficient. She helped me finally find a ceiling color, at the last minute, that I was looking for, and patiently explained to this old lady how to do the payment thing they have available. She probably needs a vacation too! Next came the painting crew, the woman who was their supervisor, and the young lady who was the head of the crew, all of whom were very professional and polite. They protected the floors and furniture, moving any of the pieces that needed to be moved. Each evening they cleaned up. I apologize for not giving any names, I am lucky to remember my own half the time. I only know the others because I have them on business cards or emails! I thank them all for the beautiful painting job they did in my rooms. They worked hard! Finally, I want to thank Carson, who is the Superintendent. He came every day to check on the progress, give them any corrections he saw that needed attention, talk with me and make sure I was happy so far. Again, he was so easy to talk with and never in a rush to leave. After they were done he came back the next day to do a walk through with me so I could point out anything I had found I was not happy with and if he saw anything. The very next day someone was here to take care of the few things. All in all, it has been a very pleasant experience for me and I now have beautifully painted rooms. "We used Orellana Home Renovations to remodel our walkout basement. We enclosed an old TV cubby in the wall and added a bump out covered in stone tile and linear fireplace. Repainted all the walls and trim. Remodeled the bathroom and added new electrical and plumbing fixtures. Everything turned out great and we couldnâ t be more happy with the quality and service we received. We changed the design plan during the project and they didnâ t complain a bit. Neither method is better than the other, but just make sure to get multiple quotes.
- How long have you been in business? A long business history helps you avoid shoddy companies. It’s hard for a service business to stay in business if they don’t do good work.
- Are you licensed and insured? Not all states require a license for painting homes, but many do. Always use one that’s insured.
- Do you belong to any professional organizations? You’ll find many online, like the Painting Contractors Association or the Finishing Contractors Association?
- Do you have other work I can look at? Always check a portfolio or, in the case of painters, it’s better to look at work they did a few years ago to see how well it’s held up.
- How long will the job take? Get a rough estimate but get it in writing.
- How many people are in your crew? This is especially important if you work remotely. More people generally means more noise, but they’ll be done faster.
- Will I be in the way if I’m home during the painting? You usually won’t be in the way, but this question helps you understand what to expect while they’re working. They’ll need to lay down coverings and do a lot of prep work.
- Do you guarantee your work? Never hire a painter who doesn’t guarantee their work. This often means they’ll rush the prep work, since peeling never happens right away.
- What type of paint do you use, and how long is it rated to last? Different rooms need different paint and the exterior needs exterior paint. It comes in different grades with different guaranteed lifetimes.
