"I highly recommend Jose's Painting L.A. I contracted with them to paint my 2.5 story craftsman home with a lot of detail and they did a beautiful job. I loved the fact that I received a fast itemized quote so I knew exactly what to expect. The workers were all professional and courteous. Also the work area was cleaned up everyday before they left. I would definitely use them again."

"The large paint crew came early and finished my one story house by 4pm. They painted the stucco, trim, siding and gates. The work was neat and professional, and the crew polite and cooperative. Jame's price was excellent and lower than the other two estimates I obtained. My house looks wonderful!!"

"Couldn't ask for more from Daniel, his sons and his crew. They were all very professional and we extremely pleased with the exterior painting to our home. We couldn't decide on the colors we wanted, so Daniel came to our home to help. We went with the colors he suggested and couldn't be happier. On the first day, Daniel, two of his sons, and about 7 workers showed up, on time, and got busy. In addition to the power wash, we were amazed how much prep work they finished. The prep work took the most time and Daniel's crew did a great job patching the stucco, sanding the window sills and glazing the windows. At the end of each day, we appreciated that the workers cleaned up thoroughly. If you're looking for a painting contractor who is honest, hard working, reliable and stops by every day to ensure the work is being done correctly, I highly recommend Daniel Clark and his team. Thank you again for a job well done, Daniel. I'm sure our neighbors will be contacting you soon to get a quote. Best, Ed P. & Kevin M."

"John gave me a fair and competitive bid. His crew works very well together. Each day they had a target on what they needed to accomplish and they achieved it. They did a great job preparing my house before painting which is key to the finish and lasting protection. I would highly recommend Any Painting for any painting needs."

"I am finally leaving this review because I need to contact John to hire him for another job and I want him and everybody to know how great his company is work with. He is super pro! He came out right away. Gave me a fair estimate and told me exactly how we could get the work done with my limited budget. Then his team started and completed the job twice as fast as any of the other estimates while at the same time being totally detailed oriented and careful not to get paint on my fancy furniture or hardwood floors. Whenever we/they were confused about the paint or process and John was offsite, we called him and he dealt with it immediately. After it was done, I complained that the paint was too thin because I hung a painting and some paint came off the wall. He told me it was because it needed more time to dry because the weather was damp. Well he was right! Fast-forward two years later and I could not be more happier with the painting of my house and now I need to call him to paint my guest house!"

"Dunn Edwards changed the colour of my trim paint but not the name! Stephen got theold colour matched and re-painted everything. Amazing customer service! I will use him again and recommend him highly."
Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
