"Cliff and Louise were very professional and did incredible work. They treated our house very carefully, ensuring our wood floors were in perfect condition, and took time and care with taping / caulking etc. They are trustworthy and we left them alone multiple times in our home and didn't have any issues. Our family is very happy with the finished results, and they took the time to do primer and two coats of paint. Would highly recommend, A+"

"I am retired military and am used to "attention to detail". Kind Home Painting Company did not disappoint. From the moment Jeff stopped by to tell us about their company, to the end of the painting, I found everyone along the journey to be very professional with much attention to detail. I have had my house painted several times, and Kind Homes is the best! Definitely, if you are in the market for a paint job, I highly recommend this company. Jeff managed the project and he and his supervisor, Kurt, came by frequently to inspect the progress. They have a great paint crew...Daniel Ford"

Customers say: Quality work

"Nate Wright is by far the best painter I have ever worked with, hands down! He is conscientious, reliable, meticulous and clean. He is extremely detailed and goes out of his way to make everything look better than he found it. He knows paints and stains well and makes good recommendations. He is extremely trustworthy. Because he is so reliable, trustworthy and clean, I would have no hesitation having him paint my home, even with furniture in it. He will be so careful with your items, he will keep his stuff organized and leave your home clean and great-looking. He is my go-to painter from now on! He's worth every penny. Hire Nate, you'll be glad you did!"

"Justin was here on time to asses the project and work within our budgets. Oscar and a team did a great job painting the house, shed and utility shed. All work was done in a thorough but timely manner. Super happy with results! We changed colors from semi-transparent stain to solid color in a middle of the painting since house was not looking the way we were expecting. We did some sample staining prior but it is hard to predict how stain will turn out on a big picture. Peak Pro Painting worked with us on changes, helped pick up new colors and adjust the budgets. The house is tall A-frame, so it was not an easy job by any means too. Weather in the mountains is also unpredictable but crew managed to work around thunderstorms. Great service and great results!"

FAQs for painting projects in Lone Tree, CO

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
