"We have had the exterior of our house painted/stained numerous times over the past 35 years, but no one has done such a phenomenal job like Rainbow Painting. I can not recommend this company enough as they were absolutely incredible. This family owned company was detail-oriented, friendly, exceptionally thorough, and took extreme pride in the quality of their work. Although they were the least expensive of any of the quotes we received (by $2,000), they went above and beyond our expectations. They were at our house promptly each morning and painted our house as if it were their own. They were dedicated, conscientious and exceptionally responsive to all our questions. They masked off, draped, and/or covered the areas not to be stained, and then thoroughly cleaned up upon completion. They even cleaned the exterior of all our windows. They provided suggestions, recommendations, and when they were done, our house looked as though it was brand new again. I usually never leave a review, but I was so impressed with Rainbow Painting that I would hire them again in an instant for any future work (like interior painting. Note that I am not personally affiliated with them, nor compensated in any way. I rate them 5+ out of 5 stars."

"Culver's painting did a great job. They had the fence completed in one day with a crew of 4. We needed them to come back to do some touch up staining that they had missed, and they were back within a week to complete the job. I would definitely hire them again."

"Ramon and his crew did an amazing job painting our basement storage room. This is the second time we have hired Envision to do some painting for us and we are extremely happy how professional they are. Besides getting the job done on a timely manner they clean up so nice before they leave for the day. Ramon was right on how long the job would take and we are extremely happy how everything looks. We definitely will be using Envision for all our future projects. I highly recommend them and I suggest you hire them, you will not be sorry."

"Had new kitchen cabinet doors and drawer fronts supplied by me painted by Culver's painting. Quote was fast, informative and professionally done, appreciated the onsite personal touch. Complementary color design expert was a huge help to us to decide on our final color of the cabinets and kitchen wall, Debra was great. Scheduling was very easy and personable. the cabinet doors and drawer fronts were painted to my expectations and delivered by the actual person who painted them. Overall well done painting experience."

"The crew of Devon and Pierce were knowledgeable, pleasant and patient as I interrupted them with questions about the steps in the painting process. That was appreciated as much as the beautiful work completed. Dependable. Would use their service again as well as refer others to them."

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
