"Nashville Painting Company was very easy to work with from start to finish. I had never done this type of thing before. They were right in line with several other estimates I had gotten on the project, and Chance, who came out to do the estimate, took his time, listened, gave me input, and was never pushy at all. From the time I called and told him I wanted to go with Nashville Painting, until we signed the contract, I had made several changes and he never once lost his sense of humor ( though he did take a short vacation and I wonder if it was because of me lol). Next came Brittney, who got me on the schedule, was ordering the paint when I gave her my color choices, and taking care of my account. Once again, an extremely nice person and very efficient. She helped me finally find a ceiling color, at the last minute, that I was looking for, and patiently explained to this old lady how to do the payment thing they have available. She probably needs a vacation too! Next came the painting crew, the woman who was their supervisor, and the young lady who was the head of the crew, all of whom were very professional and polite. They protected the floors and furniture, moving any of the pieces that needed to be moved. Each evening they cleaned up. I apologize for not giving any names, I am lucky to remember my own half the time. I only know the others because I have them on business cards or emails! I thank them all for the beautiful painting job they did in my rooms. They worked hard! Finally, I want to thank Carson, who is the Superintendent. He came every day to check on the progress, give them any corrections he saw that needed attention, talk with me and make sure I was happy so far. Again, he was so easy to talk with and never in a rush to leave. After they were done he came back the next day to do a walk through with me so I could point out anything I had found I was not happy with and if he saw anything. The very next day someone was here to take care of the few things. All in all, it has been a very pleasant experience for me and I now have beautifully painted rooms. Youāll likely need additional equipment like ladders, scaffolding and possibly a paint sprayer. Itās almost cheaper to just hire a pro. Talk to a local exterior house painter about your project.
- Do your research. Understand what to expect and what to look for in a pro. Look at paint types, prices and costs.

- How long have you been in business? A long business history helps you avoid shoddy companies. Itās hard for a service business to stay in business if they donāt do good work.
- Are you licensed and insured? Not all states require a license for painting homes, but many do. Always use one thatās insured.
- Do you belong to any professional organizations? Youāll find many online, like the Painting Contractors Association or the Finishing Contractors Association?
- Do you have other work I can look at? Always check a portfolio or, in the case of painters, itās better to look at work they did a few years ago to see how well itās held up.
- How long will the job take? Get a rough estimate but get it in writing.
- How many people are in your crew? This is especially important if you work remotely. More people generally means more noise, but theyāll be done faster.
- Will I be in the way if Iām home during the painting? You usually wonāt be in the way, but this question helps you understand what to expect while theyāre working. Theyāll need to lay down coverings and do a lot of prep work.
- Do you guarantee your work? Never hire a painter who doesnāt guarantee their work. This often means theyāll rush the prep work, since peeling never happens right away.
- What type of paint do you use, and how long is it rated to last? Different rooms need different paint and the exterior needs exterior paint. It comes in different grades with different guaranteed lifetimes.
- Can you supply a written estimate and contract? Never use a painter who isnāt willing to put his work in writing.
