"Very happy with BG. I had a very small job- I didn't think any painter would take their time to deal with it. Teresa came by and looked- the only contractor that did. She gave me a very realistic estimate. Other contractors did it by photo and really had no idea how small the job was and they sent me ridiculous quotes- likely because they just didn't want to mess with such a small job. The problem was it was a spot 20+ feet off the ground. Would have done it myself- but ladder rental and getting the ladder to my house would be difficult. Teresa's guy stopped by and did the job very quickly and perfectly. Will definitely call them again when I need help."

"Chebo is amazing the attention to detail and making sure everything was done right is clear when you are working with him. He went above and beyond on my job making sure everything was painted including the foundation and gas meter! He also did some repairs to some trim and a small section of siding in the prep work that look great. I bought new handsets and locks for all the doors and he even installed them after painting the doors. What is even more special about his company being a local family owned business is when he needed help from a crew on the big days it was his brothers that joined the project. "FANSTASTIC experience!!! We hired Cuevas Construction for a much-needed exterior paint, as well as repair work for some dry rot and replacement of a faulty back door. Rafael was thorough and meticulous in the quality of the completed job. We extended the job to include new exterior trim on the windows per his recommendation which added perfect character to our home. 6 months later we hired them again for all new interior doors, trims, new tile in the kitchen and bathrooms and new hardwood flooring throughout the house. The job was AMAZING and completely transformed our home! We were thrilled with the quality of the materials used and the installation work. Rafael consistently inspected the work with us, checked in on how we thought the progress was going, answered any questions we had, and addressed any concerns that may have bubbled up. We really appreciated how responsive and adaptable Ben, the owner, was to our emails, phone calls, and project and date changes. "FRC Construction removed two crumbling concrete walls and installed two new stone walls, one with a new set of steps to the back yard. They also installed lighting under the capstone, which makes coming home at night a pleasure. They went out of their way to replace the downspouts, hiding them behind the new walls. The downspouts had been draining onto the parking area making it a mess when it rained. That problem was solved. They are very careful and considerate workers. I also hired them to paint our home and they did an excellent job."

- Are you licensed and insured? Not all states require a license for painting homes, but many do. Always use one that’s insured.
- Do you belong to any professional organizations? You’ll find many online, like the Painting Contractors Association or the Finishing Contractors Association?
- Do you have other work I can look at? Always check a portfolio or, in the case of painters, it’s better to look at work they did a few years ago to see how well it’s held up.
- How long will the job take? Get a rough estimate but get it in writing.
- How many people are in your crew? This is especially important if you work remotely. More people generally means more noise, but they’ll be done faster.
- Will I be in the way if I’m home during the painting? You usually won’t be in the way, but this question helps you understand what to expect while they’re working. They’ll need to lay down coverings and do a lot of prep work.
- Do you guarantee your work? Never hire a painter who doesn’t guarantee their work. This often means they’ll rush the prep work, since peeling never happens right away.
