They gave suggestions that made the difference needed for the home that was not thought of. They painted all interior walls, doors, door trim, baseboards and upstairs ceiling. "Genaro gave us a very reasonable quote and even when we had a color snafu he pressed on and got the color from alternate source. The final product was a beautiful yellow and white home. He even painted the chimney, house numbers, and front door. He started by power washing the entire house, caulked where needed, scraped loose/bad paint, taped all windows and trims that needed protection. The actual painting consisted of spraying, rolling, and brushing. He showed he really cared that the job looked like a new house. "Went beyond my expectation to repair my cypress fence and add a partial new panel. My fence was leaning and about to fall due to a palm tree pushing on it. Other contractors wanted to remove palm, or brace from my neighbors yard or just told me to save my money and get a new fence which was thousands of dollars. The other contractors made it sound impossible unless I would let them do more work than necessary. Luxury paint came in, never hesitated to fix the problem at a reasonable cost. The fence was straightened, three new posts, landscape timber at bottom and they made V around the palm with my neighbor's permission. It looks great, is secure for my dog and they cleaned all debris. You would not know workers were here. I highly recommend them."

"From beginning to end this was one of the most informed, hard working and nice family company I have ever used and when it comes to roofing problems, I will use them only! Matthew guided the whole roofing job from beginning to end and was absolutely one of the nicest young man I have ever met. He answered in person and by phone whenever I contacted him, he never rushed me, he explained everything that was going on and found many problems the so called 'contractor' who put on the roof in 2012 didn't do, just to save money. I bought the home in 2013 and the house passed every inspection and after moving in, the problems started, spent a lot of time and money repairing the ceilings in the dining room and living room. You’ll likely need additional equipment like ladders, scaffolding and possibly a paint sprayer. It’s almost cheaper to just hire a pro. Talk to a local exterior house painter about your project.

- A rough estimate or complete quote. Finishing contractors vary here. Usually, they can quote straightforward projects on the spot. But some may need to take it back to their shop to run numbers and give you a detailed estimate with costs broken out. Neither method is better than the other, but just make sure to get multiple quotes.
- How long have you been in business? A long business history helps you avoid shoddy companies. It’s hard for a service business to stay in business if they don’t do good work.
- Are you licensed and insured? Not all states require a license for painting homes, but many do. Always use one that’s insured.
- Do you belong to any professional organizations? You’ll find many online, like the Painting Contractors Association or the Finishing Contractors Association?
- Do you have other work I can look at? Always check a portfolio or, in the case of painters, it’s better to look at work they did a few years ago to see how well it’s held up.
- How long will the job take? Get a rough estimate but get it in writing.
- How many people are in your crew? This is especially important if you work remotely. More people generally means more noise, but they’ll be done faster.
- Will I be in the way if I’m home during the painting? You usually won’t be in the way, but this question helps you understand what to expect while they’re working. They’ll need to lay down coverings and do a lot of prep work.
- Do you guarantee your work? Never hire a painter who doesn’t guarantee their work. This often means they’ll rush the prep work, since peeling never happens right away.
- What type of paint do you use, and how long is it rated to last? Different rooms need different paint and the exterior needs exterior paint. It comes in different grades with different guaranteed lifetimes.
- Can you supply a written estimate and contract? Never use a painter who isn’t willing to put his work in writing.
