"Matthew arrived 10 minutes early, which I believe is a good thing. Matthew was kind enough to paint just one room before the movers brought in our large furniture. He normally paints entire interiors. I asked him for an estimate for the rest of the house and it was extremely reasonable. He was clean, neat and picked up after himself. Definitely hiring him again!"

"We approached JP’s paints for painting the exterior of our home. Lindsay and Julian walked us through the process and answered all our questions and concerns. Once we received the approvals, their crew started the work immediately. They did a wonderful job with fixing the stucco, painting and cleanup. Everyone was very professional and took real care of the property. I would give them 5 stars on all the aspects of the project. We got so many positive comments from the neighbors already. Lindsay assured us that we would be pleasantly surprised and they would do a great job. They kept their promise and we are so happy how the house looks with the new paint. We would definitely recommend them to someone hiring for their painting projects. Wishing them all the very best in their future endeavors ."

"Mr. Killins removed the popcorn ceiling in my garage, fixed up some drywall spots, and painted the ceiling and walls. I was anxious during the process (who isn't having someone work on their house), but he listened to my concerns, addressed each one, and the end product looks great. The price and his availability were great. Note: any small holes seen in these pictures were left on purpose for reattaching shelving :)"

"Milton did an excellent job! He shows up on time, is spotlessly clean, works quickly and is financially fair and worth every penny. He does it right the first time! He painted the entire interior and ceilings and finished early! Did not miss a spot and painted extra little problems along the way! He is a hard worker, reliable and skilled in his craft! You can trust what he says and will be pleased you hired him! He is the only person we will ever use in the future! Do yourself a favor and hire him, and quit worrying about any task you assign him!"
Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
