"This was an exemplary and professional job. The staff, painters, carpenters and managers were on the job until complete. Constant contact, updates and suggestions. Ernesto, Alberto and Gian were central to the success of this project. They truly are King of the Painters, bar non. Hard workers, diligent worker and professional workers. Work well together and helped each other achieve maximum performance and effect. My wife and I loved the end results and so do my neighbors. Thank you, The King of Painters, a job well done!"

"Very professional painting service with great knowledge about what paint would be the most durable and excellent painting skills. Plus, their communication was very good, and I was happy to have them here at our property. My home looks like new now. Would highly recommend this company. You can count on their word and skill for your painting needs. The price we paid was what we were quoted."

"Saul did a great job at a fair price. Job took longer than he originally estimated, but we had beige and browns for wall colors the job required 3 coats of paint vs. the two he anticipated at the onset of the job. Additionally, we have a great room with 32’ ceiling which took over a week alone to paint. Total job was apps. 3,700-3,800 sq ft. Saul and his helper we’re very courteous and worked diligently."

"We were on a tight timeline to prepare a condo apartment for listing for sale. Painters from CG Pro Painting managed to work around the tight timeline and did fantastic work, including crack repairs and fixing ceiling stains due to recent flood. We believe their exceptional work and quality really helped with the sale. Would definitely recommend them to others!"

Small jobs welcome

"Jorge is a perfectionist! Painted our entire home interior and twice stained our exterior deck. Super attention to detail and pointing out things I didnâ t even ask for. Kept exactly to his estimate. Knowledgeable about products and options. Pleasant to have in our home. Even cleaned our chandelier for us! I have already recommended Jorge Bello to friends, and will use his services again for sure."

"They did everything right. Attention to detail., keeping the job site clean, careful taping and prep. They painted our newly installed shaker style garage doors. They even painted the surrounding molding, which was not part of the bid. I would not hesitate to hire them again for any painting project."

Customers say: Quick response

"I hired Eddies Custom Painting (Owner: Eduardo Jimenez) for a full exterior paint job, and the experience was outstanding. Eduardo and his team were exceptionally punctual, even starting a day early. They performed extensive stucco repairs seamlessly before painting. What truly sets them apart is their professionalism. I changed my color choices multiple times, and Eduardo handled every request with patience and grace, only charging me for the unreturnable paint. His crew was polite, used top-notch equipment, and were incredibly respectful, meticulously protecting our property and even our neighbors' cars. The final result is perfect. I highly recommend Eddies Custom Painting for their superior craftsmanship, integrity, and exceptional customer service. They will be my first call for any future painting needs."

FAQs for painting projects in Poway, CA

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
