"Tibi and his team were awesome! We closed on our home and found out the sellers ripped all shelving out. We need the interior painted fast! Called Tibi on Tuesday last week and he started Friday and finished yesterday! Fast and professional! Would highly recommend them!"

"He bid using Duration paint, used Super paint instead a cheaper paint. If you hire him, I would recommend asking if he is going to paint this and that at the start. He was not going to paint the concrete floor on the entrance to the house, although everything else was painted. After a heavy discussion about it, he agreed to paint the floor, if I bought the paint. Where I was raised, when you are going to paint the exterior of a house, you painted all the exterior, not just the walls He is a nice man, but he did not inform me of the things, he wasn't painting and he is the pro not me."

"We discovered Five Star Painting of Punta Gorda when driving by another home in the neighborhood they were working on. Having painting experience ourselves, we noted the level of preparation and attention to detail being given. Preparation is key. We called Rich to give us a bid. He was timely in meeting with us, had a formula for how he calculates the bid, broke the bid down into sections so we fully understood how he arrived at his amount and he presented us with options. We also appreciated that when we asked him about their painting process from prep to completion, he was able to speak to it with strong technical knowledge. After accepting the bid, the work was scheduled timely and we were contacted by the project manager Mark. Mark communicated with us daily and throughout the course of the work. We valued his conscientiousness, attention to detail, communication and flexibility. He has a good relationship with his crew. The crew was skilled, methodical and respectful. The painting prep was thorough with pressure washing, spray bleach to mitigate any residual mold spores, scraping, patching holes/cracks, priming and taping off. Two coats of high quality paint we picked were applied. We watched the work and were happy with the process. There was little need to intervene or express concern. We would recommend Five Star of Punta Gorda and we may be in touch again with them for kitchen cabinets. Thank you Rich, Mark & crew!"

"Luke was on time every morning 8am. he painted the whole house by himself. he always kept me involved asking me about areas of the house making sure he was doing everything to my specifications. he also stained my pool deck. The owner Peter helped Luke remove an old door on the side of my garage . close up the opening and stuccoed and painted. and this was all done for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for very good work and fair pricing.R"

"Pavel and his team did an amazing job on the exterior of my home, they painted my lana. I also had them paint a couple walls in two different rooms and my entire laundry room. They were very professional, cleaned up perfectly and I couldn’t be more pleased. I highly recommend Pavel and his team. I actually hope to use them again soon."

FAQs for painting projects in Punta Gorda, FL

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
