"G&L Painting has done both interior and exterior painting on my two story, stucco home. Both painting projects involved a color change. Earl Lewis took the time to listen to what I wanted, then made recommendations as to proper preparation and paint quality choices. He demonstrated respect for my property by laying out drop clothes and working cleanly. Everything turned out beautifully, as he promised."

"This is a family business. Daniel and his two sons do the work. They are clearly experienced, work steadily, and do a great job. Besides painting, they also removed wall paper, replaced damaged drywall, and repaired crown molding. This is the second time we have hired them and we are very pleased. Price was much better than these "chain" businesses. We will hire them again."

"Samuel and his team go above and beyond to deliver great service, product and experience. They're very skilled painters and very diligent in their work paying attention to detail. They chose high quality products and made sure I was able to get the color I liked after a few iterations. I am very happy with the end results of the job. My all brown cabin now looks updated and polished and very upscale after their job is done. I will post more photos after the renovation is complete. I am very happy with the team and will be working with them more."

"I hired Chris for a couple jobs. I had a customer at an Ethanol plant that needed a structure stripped and painted and it was pretty sizable, he did a fantastic job and in the time frame that I bid the job. My customer was extremely happy with his work as well as I. Another job he performed for me was a customer of mine in Omaha that had 4 interior rooms at his residence that he needed cleaned and painted, Chris did a wonderful job on them and went above and beyond to keep his work area clean when he was working and in-between the days he was off. I would Hire him back anytime but he has moved out of town. He would be an asset to anyone who would hired him!"

"I would highly recommend Groovy Hues to anyone looking for high quality stain and paint services that wonâ t break the bank. The Groovy Hues team is professional and easy to work with. They did an exterior stain job on our large fence, and we were so pleased with the quality and price of the work, that we also hired Groovy Hues to paint our master bathroom. We look forward to using Groovy Hues again in the future!"

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
