"It was a pleasure to work with Juan Serna. He was prompt, courteous and willing to help me problem solve as we figured out the project. The painting crew completed the work in a timely and thorough manner. When Juan checked back with me at the end of the day, there were some small drips on the back of the house that he cleaned up without hesitation. I also appreciated that Juan attended to some caulking that was badly needed on our chimney. I will certainly call JPS for my future painting needs."

"He came prepared to paint my kitchen dining room, however he came with a plastic roll to be used to prevent paint drips. he never used the roll. I was left with paint drop on my floor, oven top, and top of refrigerator. So I cannot give a 5 star review."

"My house has never been cleaner, she cleaned places I would have never thought about. She did my vaulted ceilings and lights to go with it, and it turned out amazing along with every other room in my house! She cleaned phenomenally and cannot wait for the next cleaning!"

"Ron and his son did a excellent job on painting are home. Ron helped us with the choice of colors. They were respectful and willing to work with us throughout the project. They painted our gutters, eves, down spouts, cedar siding, vinyl siding and are small shed. The work was done beautifully and professionally. Dutchman painting is a bit pricey but the work and professionalism is worth the expense. I also believe if there is any issue in the future they will be there and willing to help. That is worth it to me as well."

"S & S Painting & Restoration did a great job. Once we were scheduled They contacted us as to the start date & came out to pressure wash our roof, which they completed in one day.. when the weather was right, they came out to apply the primer & 2 top coats to our roof. They also completed it in one day. We have a large farmhouse with a 2 story metal roof with a few different pitches & levels of roof. They were very professional & meticulous in the spraying of the paint. I would recommend their services to anyone looking for a painting company. We have another couple of buildings that we will be scheduling for next spring. We are very satisfied with their work!"

"Quick response, Quality service and very professional. We are really happy with the results! They blended the new drywall into the old ceiling really well."
Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
