"Very highly recommend! We initially hired them to paint over a custom paint job from previous owner. They did such a beautiful job that we hired them for the entire interior of our home. They work as a painting team and worked very hard, moving furniture, painting walls, high ceilings and trim. They made two trips to bring paint samples when we expanded the job. Great communication and excellent work!"

"Russ is the subject matter expert for painting; however, he still respects and listens to my requests such as I saw my older house soffit was painted, and I wondered whether I should also get my current newer house soffit painted instead of varnishing to save cost. Russ suggested varnishing would make the wood texture visible and look nice, the existing mildew would disappear after washing with vinegar, if not, we could choose to paint still. And at the end it indeed turned our well. Russ was very prompt in giving us bid. I thought the bid was higher than expected, so I told him I would get another bid, at the end the other bid has similar price, and Russ has more reviews and the rating is high, so I chose Russ. Russ scheduled the work very quickly and got the work done in a week! The most important highlight is about his crew. His crew consists of 5 people, they are all hardworking, friendly, respectful people, they came to work early every day, worked long days, and fully cleaned up at the end of each day. They paid attention to all the details, calking, fixing, cleaning, taping, covering, etc. They went around the house with ladders multiple times. At the end the paint job turned really well, with my critical eyes I cannot find a single defect. (Except some mildew in the back side porch soffit could not go away, I was warned of it, which is not their fault). My house looks so much better after the painting, it almost looks like new again. I was about to hire someone else to do interior painting since Russ is too busy to paint interior during dry summer, after I saw how they did my exterior job, I think it worth the waiting for Russ and his crew to come back to do my interior painting in the raining winter as well."

"Miguel was extremely professional contractor. The quality of his work is perfect. He goes above and beyond. I had other quotes and they where ridiculous. he was available when I would call with questions. I will hopefully have him to paint the rest of inside home winter. He is extremely busy but we live in Washington hard to determine outside paint days this. Miquel does his best to paint outside on days he knows it will not rain. Grateful to find someone you truly can rely to be reliable and do a great job. Northwest Accurate painting. Thankful Tami Northup"

"The crew started with a large 2-story 1975 wood house that had been badly scrapped & painted multiple times. Mario arranged for a skilled carpenter to re-build & replace rotten wood. His crew worked tirelessly to sand, fill and paint with a white semigloss paint. White and semigloss showed every imperfection. The crew went back to re-sand and re-paint spots. They repaired the stuccoed chimney. It was a labor intense project. Today, the house looks beautiful. Mario gently listened and then executed my detailed request. Mario is professional and easy to work with."

FAQs for painting projects in Stanwood, WA

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
