I have been painting for 20 plus years with multiple outfits big and small. I have acquired multiple techniques along the way to obtain the best quality possible. I am also a perfectionist. I will not be satisfied with mediocre paint jobs. I hold myself to the highest of standards. My expertise is in residential painting. I shine in masking and spraying. I would prefer a spray job over a brush job but excel at both and last but not least I am a very clean painter. Not only will the job site stay free of clutter but I will also make sure the job is done to a perfect T. No paint spatters or crooked lines. Only honest hard work at an affordable price.

"We would definitely recommend John and Emma to anyone who needs PROFESSIONAL painting done. They work as a team, and their goal is to satisfy the customer. Very considerate about your schedule, they arrive about the same time daily and leave about the same time. We will call them again, next time I need painting done."

"Luke was a gift! I moved from Colorado into a new home in Prattville, walked in the door and immediately realized I couldn’t live with the existing DIY paint job. I called Luke’s Painting, their estimate was $1400.00 less than their competitors, he started painting two days later. Luke was professional, honest, hard working and always cognizant of the fact that I was working from home while he was painting. The finished product is amazing, a realtor commented on how clean the lines are. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Luke’s Painting!"

"Tyler is very detail oriented. I could tell he takes great pride in his work. He wants it perfect. He was very fast and his work was flawless! I was very impressed. Especially after having just experienced an unbelievably horrific, stressful paint job done on my business just months before by someone who overcharged me by a lot. It was a huge relief to find Red Line Painting. He is the only painter I will call from here on out."

"Don and his crew showed up on time and worked a full day my project was completed in a timely manner. I have a large covered deck he painted all the trim and railing. And stained my deck. I am very happy with the finished product. And would highly recommend Don's Painting"
Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
