"We hired Superb Painting to fix up the exterior of our house. They replaced rotten siding and trim, scraped peeling paint, and then re painted our house and trim. We worked with Tim and were impressed with how easy he was to get ahold of when needed. He came out twice (once about halfway through the job as well as on the last day of work) to walk around with us to make sure we were happy with everything. All of the workers were friendly and professional. We are very happy with the finished product! We had multiple neighbors comment that they were doing a great job and that they took down their information in case they needed siding/painting work done in the future."

"Asked CertaPro to paint our 30-year-old ceilings. They did a great job. They spent 3 days covering, taping and painting 3000+ sq feet of ceiling. The paint crew was superior, friendly, the work excellent, done professionally and on-time. After completion, the cleanup was complete and except for brilliant new ceilings, it was difficult to tell if they were ever here. A+, 5-Star work."

"Austin and crew did an outstanding job painting my deck. It was pretty pathetic looking and Austin made it look brand new. He was professional and very reliable. He was right on time for the estimate and then for the job. He worked with me on the price and was easy to work with. Very nice and pleasant. I worked in customer service for many years and he ranks at the top. Even my dog loved him! I highly recommend AW Painting, you will not be disappointed. Monica T"

"These painters are ever more impressive and detailed than I ever imagined someone would be. We had multiple people come look at our house to be painted and Randy and Chris immediately stood out to us with their knowledge and understanding of what we wanted. And I never felt like we were being sold or pressured into anything. Highly recommend them!"

Small jobs welcome

"Joe and his professional crew of painters go above and beyond to make sure the job is done right! I was given a step by step analysis of the project and what could be expected along the way. All my windows were caulked and he even a replaced a piece of siding that had begun to rot prior to painting. There are not a lot of companies that would have gone to that length to make sure the job was done right! When you hire Joe and his crew you are hiring the best!!"

"I highly recommend Mabulas Painting for any interior painting needs. He recently painted four bedrooms and my living room, and the results are fantastic. He was incredibly meticulous with his prep work, ensuring all edges were crisp and the finishes were smooth. Throughout the project, he kept the workspace clean and finished the job right on schedule. It’s rare to find someone who combines this level of craftsmanship with such professional, reliable service. I’ll definitely be calling him for my next home project!"

"My experience with Tracy "Tray" Hollingsworth was tremendous. We hired Tray initially to do some backyard deck repairs and staining, and his quality of work and strong communications were so excellent that we hired him for some additional activities that centered on exterior painting and some handyman tasks. I look forward to working with Tray again - - he is the BEST!"

Customers say: True professional

"Ray replaced some bad siding in various places, installed a new door/trim, added a gutter and ended up replacing windows for us. Sometimes weather and available workers were challenging, but he always kept me informed and was very pleasant to work with. Satisfied with the work and so far no issues-"

FAQs for painting projects in Washington, NE

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.

Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.

Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.

You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.

Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.

Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
