"The A1 crew, led by Geraldo, did a stellar job on my personal residence. They demo’ed deteriorating siding in certain problematic locations followed by painting the whole house to achieve one, uniform color. No need to search further than A1!"

"We hired Painting Plus to paint our house that is in much need of painting. Our house is older, and has managed to be about 5 different colors. The process was easy, we were able to go down to our local painting store and look at colors, and choose from there. The owner, Derrick communicated with us via email, which made things super easy. Jesus was the individual who painted our house, he made sure he was clear about what we wanted, provided suggestions on what would look the best, informed us of his comings and goings throughout the day. He did a wonderful job. He left each day and cleaned up his tools, and left no mess. He was professional and respectful. We could not be happier with our choice, the finished product and plan to hire again for our rental property."

"Justin was here on time to asses the project and work within our budgets. Oscar and a team did a great job painting the house, shed and utility shed. All work was done in a thorough but timely manner. Super happy with results! We changed colors from semi-transparent stain to solid color in a middle of the painting since house was not looking the way we were expecting. We did some sample staining prior but it is hard to predict how stain will turn out on a big picture. Peak Pro Painting worked with us on changes, helped pick up new colors and adjust the budgets. The house is tall A-frame, so it was not an easy job by any means too. Weather in the mountains is also unpredictable but crew managed to work around thunderstorms. Great service and great results!"

"Kylan was contracted to stain an old fence. The previous stain was discontinued, so he had to find something else that would match. And it matched perfectly! He was always on time. He left the worksite spotless. And he really does impeccable work. Plus his pricing is very competitive and certainly worth every penny. Now Iâ m tempted to find other projects that require painting!"

"SO glad we found Troys Painting. Troy came and gave a fair price and answered all my questions. He and the crew arrived just as promised. They immediately got down to business no lollygagging around. He left his crew there and they worked hard for 10 hours straight to complete the job. They not only painted they did a few repairs that needed doing we had no clue were issues. They worked neat and cleanly, left no traces they were ever there except the beautiful house they just painted. The crew was so good we were compelled to tip each and every one of them. I recommend Troys Painting for all you painting and staining needs, I know we will call them for all we need to be done, Thank you, Troy and Crew!"

"I can hardly recommend E & H Painting enough. They came and resolved a number of major paint issues left by a previous painting company that fell apart during our remodel project. They let us know that they wouldn't consider the project done until we were happy with the result. Both crews they sent did a great job and I would definitely hire them again!"

"From start to finish, Foothills Painting did a great job. Tara started off by setting up the estimate. Wes did the estimate on a chilly and rainy day but took his time and was very helpful. The project manager, Paul, was very helpful and answered my questions throughly. Rachel helped verify my color selection, and Adam and Ed did a great job staining the fence. They were courteous, careful and considerate. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again. Thank you, Foothills Painting, for making this a very good experience."

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
