"Pinehurst Painting recently completed a soffit and fascia repair and painting job at my home. They replaced damaged and rotted areas, prepped peeling areas, then primed and painted. They did the same with very weathered south facing windows. I appreciated their thorough estimate, regular communication and excellent work; I will definitely hire them again in the future!"

"Needed to sand and stain a mid-century style wood ceiling on a short timeline due to other work scheduled immediately after the project. Rubumco did an excellent job of prepping all the rooms, carefully protecting the existing painting walls, before they carefully sanded with dust collection equipment to keep everything clean. They did a great job of touching up ceiling beams and making crisp paint lines to make the ceiling really pop. Will definitely use Rubumco in the future for other paint work."

"Vadim & Slavic devoted considerable unpaid time communicating expectations before starting work. We knew what to expect, and nothing went over budget. That's rare. Their balance of professionalism, courtesy and initiative was ideal. Not pushy, not too soft either. Just right. The subcontracted pressure washing prep team was equally courteous and detail-oriented. If you're staining a cedar deck, preparation is everything, and nothing was missed by the cleaning/prep team. Alex and Max did a beautiful job both painting deck railings and applying stain evenly to our perfectly prepped deck. Our property was protected from stray paint splatter because the taping job was perfect. No mess was left for us to clean up. In short, an A+ job. Highly recommended!"

"I am so pleased with my experience with Hedlund Painting. I contacted Zakary to repair trim / banister damage from an anxious puppy, as well as paint my kitchen cabinets and walls. I could not be happier with the result. Micah, the project manager, was on-time, detail-oriented, and caring in my home. I really appreciated how he stayed on top of the project, and that the project completed on time. I also want to credit the MASTERFUL painter/carpenter, Jesus, who painted our kitchen to PERFECTION and MASTERFULLY repaired our trim / banisters. I could not be happier with the outcome. Jesus was meticulous, skilled, polite, on-time, and a general delight to have in our home. I could not recommend Zakary, Micah, and Jesus enough - I will definitely be reaching out to Hedlund again for future home projects."

"We hired this company to paint the interior of our house before we moved in. They worked long hours and completed it quickly and carefully. They were meticulous. In addition to painting, they did some repair work; everything they did was done well. Highly recommend. Will hire again when needed."

"Max House painted our baseboards and a built in bookcase and did a great job, got us into the schedule quickly, and on top of that they were more affordable than the other painting company we talked to. We are already booking them to do some more painting at our house next month."

"Exceptionally happy with the service we received. The owner provided a timely and detailed estimate. Communication done via phone and email. The painters arrived on time and were meticulous in their prep work and painting. Cleanup was done at the end of each day. After two coats of paint were applied, the ceilings and walls look great! Will definitely hire again when the outside of our home needs a new paint job."

"These guys are great! I have a few cabinet doors that needed to be painted to finish up a kitchen cabinet refacing project we started before we moved into our condo. We reached out to multiple people to get a quote for painting just a few cabinet doors. We were on a budget, and I didn't think we'd be able to get the work done until we could save up more, but these guys are so nice that they offered to work with us on our budget - it truly felt like a Christmas miracle (I may have teared up, it was so kind)! They did a great job painting the cabinets and turned them around in just a couple of days, even though I told them they could take their time. In the future, we hope to repaint all the walls in our home, and I will reach out to Color Cat Painting when the time comes!"

Most homeowners opt for semi-gloss or high-gloss paint to make the baseboards stand out against the walls. If you’d rather keep things subtle, matching the wall sheen with eggshell or satin also works well. When your trim has nicks or dents, reach for a flatter, matte finish—it hides minor imperfections better than a shiny coat.
Stripping old paint from trim costs $1 to $3 per linear foot. Pros use specialized tools and techniques to lift away existing layers without gouging the wood, then prep the surface for a fresh finish. While it adds to your budget, proper removal protects the molding and sets the stage for a smoother, longer-lasting paint job.
Tackling the baseboards first often leads to crisper lines. Painting trim first lets you tape off the boards instead of the walls, so you’re less likely to splatter color where you don’t want it. Any stray marks on the wall get covered when you roll on the final coat, making the whole process faster and tidier.
You can absolutely paint baseboards in place. Leaving them installed avoids the risk of cracking or misaligning the boards when they’re reattached. With thorough cleaning, light sanding, and careful taping, a pro—or an experienced DIYer—can achieve a sharp, factory-smooth finish while saving you the hassle of prying off and reinstalling trim.
Painting almost always beats replacement in cost. Swapping out baseboards runs about $150 in DIY materials or roughly $1,100 with a pro, while repainting costs about $50 in supplies and $1 to $5 per square foot for labor. Unless the boards are warped or severely damaged, a fresh coat delivers the same visual upgrade for a fraction of the price.
Paintable caulk and wood filler are the go-to fixes for nail holes in baseboards. Wood filler sands flush for a glass-smooth surface, while caulk provides a flexible seal that won’t crack as the house settles. Either way, patching those tiny divots before you prime ensures your finished baseboards look seamless.
