"About 10 or 11 years ago, AC Paving installed a new asphalt driveway for us. Our original driveway was gravel and dirt. We were extremely please with the work and the price. The driveway has held up beautifully through the years, but it was looking like it needed sealant and we had a damaged area where water has frozen and thawed over and over. Today, AC Paving showed up at our home. They were in the neighborhood doing work and they remembered us from years ago. They immediately got to work and now we have a lovely, good as new drive. I highly recommend this company. They do good work, they clean up after themselves, and the owner is always on the job with his crew, seeing to every detail. "Nick and his crew were awesome. They showed up earlier and got started right away. Both driveways had to be graded down, backfilled with gravel and asphalted. They did everything they said they were going to do. They even went above and beyond with the dirt that was removed from both driveways and placed it in the back yard were we are having problems with low spots and pounding of water. Not only did they place the dirt in the back yard, but they even graded it out for free! They did an excellent job on both driveways. We couldn't be happier. "Tony Walker was very Customer oriented. He was available to us and talked to us as the paving was being executed. He explained everything and educated us on the different aspects paving. He was friendly and his price was very fair. His crew are hard workers and very good at what they do. It was hot out (about 94 degrees) and he and his crew were on time and ready to work. He also re-arranged his schedule to accommodate us. It was a pleasure hiring him. We talked to another customer of his and this person was very pleased with his work. So were we. "H.F. Asphalt left a flyer in my mailbox, or at my door, as they have done in prior years when working in my neighborhood.  I contacted them on April 1, 2015, in the late afternoon and spoke to Charlie Ford. He was very polite, professional and competent.  It turned out that they had an opening for paving my driveway the next morning, and I decided to go ahead and get the driveway done.  I did not get other estimates, and I don't know if the price was reasonable or not; but I relied on the generally excellent reviews on Angie's List and trusted that the price was appropriate.  Obviously, it would have been better to get a few estimates, but I just went ahead and took a chance.  Charlie Ford put me down for 10 a.m. the next morning, but the workers arrived at 8 a.m. instead.  I was not pleased with the early arrival because it disrupted my plans.  But the company did such a good job, and Charlie Ford was so polite and professional, that I do not hold this against them.  At least they did not make me wait around for them to arrive.  Once I moved the cars out of the garage, they went right to work.  In less than an hour, I had a new asphalt driveway, and it looks marvelous.  I waited much too long to write this review, but now I can tell you that, after 4 months, it still looks marvelous.  Once it was done, Charlie showed up to make sure that the job was done properly and that I was satisfied, and, of course, to collect the check.  I will add one note of caution.  Charlie told me that it did not matter if I was not at home when the work was done and if the garage doors were closed.  For all I know, they would have done the same excellent job under those conditions.  But I was glad that I was at home, and that I had the garage doors open.  The men actually moved their small tractor, with the rollers on them to smooth the pavement, into my garage, and worked form the garage on down.  They could not have done that if the doors had been closed.  I also fear that they would not have been able to pave the asphalt so smoothly against the concrete floor of the garage, and so level with the floor, if the doors had been closed.  Again, Charlie and the crew obviously know what they are doing, so if Charlie says you don't have to be there, I am willing to bet that he is right.  Nevertheless, I would recommend that you be there, and that, if you have garage doors, you leave them open.  One other minor point is that the workers left some debris on the garage floor, and they used my own broom/brush to sweep up with -- without even asking permission, and without putting it back where they found it.  But it was not a big deal.  Charlie offered to sweep it up himself, but I declined.  -- In sum, this company did an excellent job, and I recommend then without reservation -- although you might be wise to find out for yourself if the price is right.
