"This was the second project we’ve done with Alan and crew. They painted the exterior of our home two years ago, and now almost the entire interior. Everything about the process was exceptional. Communication about every aspect of the job was great as was the workmanship and the clean-up. Getting nearly the whole interior painted at once is a disruptive process, but I’m not sure it could have gone better. To quote our 7-yr old, “Wow! This looks great…. "Don Shin and his AA Painting were dependable and meticulous. Once we agreed to the project with AA, they were quickly available and did the work in one day. Don suggested a penetrating stain for the walls and a brighter, more cleanable paint for the metal trim, which we had originally thought might be matte. Since we were going from a dark wood color to a lighter one, his people did multiple coats. The crew moved all furniture and carefully removed several bamboo shades and brackets (which they later reinstalled). Their plastic drop film and taping work was carefully done to produce a painting job that was literally perfect--not one drop spilled, not one piece of furniture harmed. They were neat, courteous, and professional, both with us and with the staff of our condominium building. In the midst of the job my wife had a medical emergency. Since we saw that the AA people were very reliable, we had no problem leaving them to their work while we ran to the clinic. We are definitely thinking of AA for other projects."

"In spring of 2017 (May) I hired Flanagan Painting to paint my stucco house. I had initially wanted only my trim painted as paint was peeling badly. He explained to me that he noticed cracks in my stucco in both house & garage & he could patch those up & if I would have the whole house painted, he could use a special paint to also help seal the cracks in the stucco. Since I didn’t know the last time the house was painted (I’ve owned for only 7 years) & because I thought a full paint job would help seal out pests of all kinds, I decided to go with his suggestion of full house & garage painting. (I didn’t feel pressured by him at all to do full paint job.) So glad I did! Joe Flanagan & his assistant, Jonathon, did a great job on my house & garage! And at a reasonable price! And with a 5% Angie’s List member discount. He also suggested power washing my wooden fence, which was unpainted & unstained & had turned an ugly gray. He said if I did this, it would look almost new again, with a tinge of the original orange color. He was right! The fence looks so much better. And he gave me suggestions on staining it to maintain it. He also was careful of my perennial plants that were coming up around the house, which I appreciated – I did mark them to help him avoid. They were detail oriented & careful in their painting. He also noticed & pointed out a hole in my eaves which he chased a squirrel out of & plugged up w/ rocks as a temporary barrier. And he & his assistant were both so congenial, friendly & easy to work with! And answered all my questions! I will definitely hire again for any painting work!"

"My house just needed a fresh coat of paint and was to be painted exactly as it was. That didn't happen! Unfortunately I found out after the fact, that Ryan had instructed his crew to paint my house the "same color, top to bottom" because he said that's how he remembered it. My family and I came home to find the entire house had been painted the same color as the siding. All of the trim with the exception of window and door trim had been painted over with the siding paint. I called Ryan and he came over the next day. I showed him pictures of how the trim had always been painted for the past 18 years. This is where the problem started. Ryan began to argue with me telling me that the pictures didn't show any trim paint - that it was just the way the light reflected that made the trim look lighter. He absolutely refused to acknowledge that he was wrong and actually insinuated that I was mistaken about how my house has been painted for all these years. At that point I lost all trust in Ryan and really felt as if I had been duped. He was relentless in his insistence that he was right. He was adamant that the trim had not previously been painted a light cream color even after seeing pictures to the contrary. It seemed as if he was trying to cover up his error by convincing me that I didn't know what I was talking about. Ryan eventually agreed to paint a portion of the trim but never admitted he was wrong about painting over it in the first place and never apologized. As for the painting in general it was adequate. But the back of the house needed to be scraped and painted a 2nd time as all the patching material they used showed through the paint and it was blotchy. This was done but only after I pointed it out and asked to have the problem corrected. Other minor issues were taken care of without incident. The crew was polite and respectful.

"The team did an impressive job on the prep work filling holes, caulking, getting rid of hornet nests that I didn't even know existed, and pointed out an ant problem to me. I was impressed on their thorough preparation which is key for all good paint jobs. My house is 1970 with red wood siding, they took care on one side to add an extra coat because the wood is so dry and they wanted it to look even. Summer is busy and rain can cause delays so it took a little time to get them here, but that is to be expected with outdoor work and I was willing to be flexible with the timeline. The team was courteous and Dennis was very patient and helpful during the color picking phase. My house looks like new and I've had many compliments from neighbors. I would hire them again and recommend their work.
