"We got 3 roofing estimates. We made an appointment with the owner David Crasny. He showed up on time. He was the only one of the 3 roofers who got up on the roof (3 stories) to take pictures and evaluate. We received his estimate in 2 days as promised. It was detailed and thorough and gave us the option for a few extras (over fascia sealing & back porch). His price seems very fair. All roofers use GAF or equivalent shingles. He is trained and certified in GAF products. We were told by 2 roofers (we didn't ask him specifically) that we could have some shingle repairs done and can delay a new roof for 2 years. Based on his promptness and professionalism in person and in his estimate we will probably choose him when we do our new roof. We got a very low and very high estimate from other roofers. His was in the middle."

I didn't know the name had been changed to "Newton Roofing Residential", and was under new management/ownership.I called and Mr. Melo answered right away. I explained the problem. He personally came to inspect the following day. I had feared a new roof might be needed, but he explained the damage was likely caused by a damaged (perforated) shingle. One of his crew came out 2 days later and replaced the shingle. The price was reasonable. I also noted another shingle that lifted, due to a "nail-pop". This, a relatively minor matter, was repaired at no extra charge. I cant' recommend Newton Roofing Residential strongly enough. They were prompt, efficient, professional, and polite. "Initially they were responsive and got to the job quickly. They started one day later than their initial estimate and finished the job in a day and a half. The roof has gone through the Arthur downpour with no apparent leaks.
The cleanup wasn't perfect, as there were small pieces of old roofing and cellophane strips left on the ground. In a couple of places where the roof changed direction the shingles didn't conform fully to the shape leaving some gaps. Also, when they reflashed around the chimney they put the new flashing one course above the old flashing, rather than digging out the old flashing and inserting the new material in the same place.
When I called about the issues they were pleasant, but it took a few weeks for a representative to come out and review things, and then three more weeks for them to come to resolve the first two issues. The flashing is just the way they do things and is OK.
