"Our three VKB bathrooms are PERFECT. The office staff is easy to work with and schedule appointments. Yucel Muslu came out to our house and created digital renderings of the bathrooms, incorporating all of the ideas I had and some of his own. He kept me fully informed of where he was in the design process. We then met with Yucel in his studio and picked out everything (the fixtures, tile, toilets) from their showroom. Prior to our meeting, Yucel had 3 or so fixture options he thought would look nice for each bathroom and we selected from there. If I had a design portfolio on HOUZZ, he would have utilized that as well but I did not. Yucel is an incredibly skilled designer and our bathrooms are BEAUTIFUL. Al Onur was our contractor and he kept an eye on our project, stopped by every so often and was always quickly available via text or phone. Elvis Aguilon was the one in charge of all projects at our house on a day to day basis and he is an incredibly skilled craftsman. His work is meticulous and the tile/grout are perfect throughout all 3 bathrooms. The two men who were in the house everyday were extremely clean and swept thoroughly at the end of each day. All of my wood floors were protected and they took great care to not damage walls when they were carrying in items. Any accidental damage they touched up and they even fixed an attic door that I broke prior to the project which was a nice surprise. Our project added a water closet in the master while eliminating the tub and making the shower enormous. Yucel was able to easily make design adjustments when I panicked that the water closet wouldn't be large enough; he was correct, the size he said would be fine is an excellent size. I would hire VKB again for our kitchen and for our two other bathrooms when they need to be redone. They were easy to work with, thorough and timely. I recommend VKB without hesitation to all of my friends and neighbors."

"The crew did a great job painting and refinishing my front porch. They even patched up missing concrete bordering trim. I didn't think the house power-washing was needed until I saw the before and after difference !"

"Ferney Leal had done such a great job at my house, I hired him and his company to put down peel-and-stick vinyl tiles in my mother's basement. Once again, he was an excellent communicator, sending me updates, photos and videos of the work-in-progress as he went along. He was always there when he said he would be. When putting the original estimate together, he noticed some of the floor moulding had been removed so he offered to replace it. The basement looks great! My mother's favorite part is that he and his helpers would sing while they worked. She loved it! I will definitely use Leal services again when I need more remodeling and handyman work done at my house or my mom's."

"The work that Bobby did was rebuilding a shed ramp, installing new porch screen door and repairing large window ledge. All I can say is that he made everything better than new! Couldn’t ask any anyone more professional!"

"After interviewing several contractors for our deck project, we finally settled on Homecraft.  They were extremely responsive during the bidding process, often responding to my emails within a few minutes.  Jeff also did a good job providing sample photos and materials and helping us visualize various elements of the design.  We had to iterate repeatedly as we searched for a balance of form, function, and cost.  They were easy to work with, and would either offer suggestions or just do as we asked, depending on what we wanted.  We finally settled on a 208 sq ft structure, with 192 sq ft of it screened and roofed.
Most days a crew of 3 showed up, and they started early and worked steadily.  My wife was very pleased with the crew - they were respectful of our property, and kept the language family friendly (which we appreciated because of our young children).  They didn't rush and did things right, and it shows in the final product.  All of the design elements we asked for were included.  Every night I went over the work of the previous day to find any issues to discuss the next morning, but I only had to speak to them maybe twice, and those were easy fixes.  Everything was built very solidly and neatly.  They clearly know their trade.
Cleanup was thorough - it took me several minutes to find any nails on the ground after completion, and I only found about 3.  Not bad at all, considering the amount of materials involved in the project.  They also went above and beyond by hauling away a small pile of concrete leftover from the previous deck.
It wasn't a cheap project or a quick one - they probably committed about 400 man hours to it in the 3-4 weeks they were working - but we are just thrilled to have a space that is beautiful, practical, and low maintenance.  Our home has been wonderfully enhanced, and Homecraft gets an enthusiastic thumbs up from us.

"Chapin Handyman does excellent work! We needed our basement windows (which had just been replaced by another contractor) to have either a trim border or wallboard put around them and decided to get caught up on a few other tasks that we just weren't getting around to. Nestor was very responsive for giving us a price, broken out by project. Each worker who came through (a) knew what was asked for from Nestor and also (b) double-checked the needs with us. The windows look *amazing* and we're really happy to have the ceiling fans switched out, our towel rack back up in the master bath, and the installation of a proper basement light switch (after making a bad call on not putting it in when we finished it years ago.) We can't recommend them enough!"

FAQs for shed and enclosure service projects in Kensington, MD

A treehouse stresses the tree, but proper design keeps that impact manageable. Start with a healthy species, use tree-attachment bolts instead of lag screws, and allow room for future growth. A qualified treehouse builder or arborist can assess load capacity, ensure safe fastening, and monitor the tree’s health after construction.

The time it takes to build a treehouse depends on its size and complexity, and whether you choose a prefab kit or a custom design. A straightforward child's prefab treehouse can be assembled in as little as two days to a week. More complex designs can take two to six weeks. Adding features like plumbing and electricity can add several days to the project timeline. Building a fully livable treehouse can take anywhere from several months to a year.

The best trees for constructing a treehouse are strong and healthy with a minimum diameter of 12 inches. Ideal choices include maple, oak, hemlock, and fir trees. If suitable trees aren't available, you can install additional support posts to reinforce the structure. Consulting with an arborist or local treehouse builder ensures your site is evaluated correctly and your treehouse is securely anchored.

A well-constructed treehouse can last anywhere from 10 to 25 years or more. The lifespan depends on the quality of the materials used and the extent to which they are maintained. Applying weatherproof treatments to the wood can help extend its lifespan. Keep in mind that treehouses in areas with harsh weather conditions may wear faster than those in milder climates.

Building a treehouse for year‑round living is entirely possible when you address both the technical challenges and the lifestyle benefits head‑on. This project requires a secure design that incorporates superior insulation, integrated plumbing, and robust electrical systems, while also creating a sustainable, minimalist, and eco-friendly retreat. To ensure comfort and safety, invest in enhanced structural supports and adhere to strict code-compliance measures. Professional consultation is essential to transform your treehouse into a secure, full-time living space that incorporates off-the-grid and environmentally conscious design.

Plumbing installation in a treehouse is challenging because it requires unique, engineered solutions for an off‑ground structure. This project requires custom-designed water distribution systems, reinforced connections, and specialized adjustments that exceed the standard requirements for home plumbing. In addition, implementing innovative solutions such as composting toilets, rainwater collection systems, and graywater sinks ensures safe operation, efficient drainage, and sustainable water usage. These measures, when combined with rigorous adherence to building codes, guarantee that your treehouse’s plumbing system operates securely and efficiently.
