When I needed a new roof, I turned to Excalbur again. The estimate was comparable to the least expensive of the estimates I received. The work went according to schedule and was done efficiently and expertly. We had differing opinions about whether or not required work was covered by the contract, but were able to resolve this matter. Some words of advice to everyone entering into a contract for such an expensive and complex job, whether with this contractor or any other contractor: be very sure to spell out in detail exactly what is covered in the job and covered by the contracted price; expect the unexpected -- e.g., that tearing off the old roof may reveal the need for unanticipated carpentry work -- and be as clear as possible what of this is covered by the contract, and if not, what the agreed upon additional cost would be (e.g., cost of material + $xx per hour, etc.)"
