"I had actually used him 20 years ago. I called him because he was a local and he had a good rating on Angie's List. I wound up not being particularly happy. It cost $500.00 for the pool heater installation and $1500.00 for the work on the water heater. I had 2 water heaters. The one that came with the house was electric before gas was available. We had the gas installed by someone else in 1980. We kept the electric as a backup. It finally started leaking so we wanted it taken out and not replaced. We also wanted the gas hot water heater moved and the old oil-fired boiler taken out. He took out the old hot water heater and the old boiler and moved the gas hot water heater over. He also had a lot of piping to do as well as removal. I thought that it came out to be expensive. He did not clean up very well after himself. Part of what he did I wasn't wild about the way in which he put in the new piping. We hadn't discussed that so I couldn't really complain about it. I would have expected him to put in the piping in a way that did not block the hot water heater. He saved his time and piping material by using old piping that was there. It didn't work out the way I would have wanted it to, but we hadn't discussed it so I can't complain. He didn't really clean up after himself. He left a mess behind. Overall I really wasn't all that happy more after he left when I realized what was going on. Earlier I had bought a swimming pool heater and I asked him if he was up to installing it. He had run the gas pipe to the heater 20 years ago. He agreed to do it, but it turns out he really didn't know what he was doing at all. He made mistakes that were elementary mistakes for somebody who would have known to the point where I had to get on the phone with the company to find out how things were supposed to be done. He was thumbing through the installation manual trying to figure out where he had gone wrong. It turned out that one of the connections he made to one of the tubes was not a good one and it leaked. It took me about 3 weeks to get him back there to fix that leak and he still didn't fix it. I kept calling him after that for the entire summer. We closed down the pool beginning of September. I waited that entire time, but he didn't come back to fix that hose. It was clear for me from what I saw and what I didn't see that he should never be hired to install a swimming pool heater. He wound up charging about $200.00 for trip fees. That made no sense to me. We discussed what the cost was going to be in general terms. He had done a trip fee, but he knew he was going to be working in my house and we are basically around the corner from where he is. He charged this enormous amount of money and I didn't realize until later after I had paid him and I started going through the invoice. That did bother me a lot. It seems like everything works right. I was hoping he might eventually come back and finish what he didn't do right but it didn't happen. The swimming pool heater was installed in May. He came back once and never came back all summer."

"CHW was very responsive to my claim (swimming pool circulation pump failed). However, CHW was unable to find a local service provider. After 10 days, my pool was experiencing an algae bloom and I needed to do something quickly. I found a service provider who fixed the pump (bad capacitor) for $50...just a few dollars more than the $45 that would have been out of pocket for a CHW agent to fix the pump."

*******20 YEARS EXPERIENCE*******\nBeginning in 1987 when I built my first swimming pool as a laborer, I fell in love with the job, I was so proud how it made the customers so happy and the children glowing with anticipation. I worked on a few different crews with different companies through the years and I really wasn't happy with the way things where going. I was losing my pride, we where pushed to build as many pools as we could and the quality of the work wasn't as important to the big guy, as hurrying to the next job. I was not satisfied with the way things where done.\n\n After working on a few thousand pools I decided to change things in order to bring pride back to pool installing. I got together with a friend that felt the same as I and we went out on our own. We may have only built 1 pool a day, instead of 3, but we where proud. The pools are installed the way they should be, like it was our own. In the next two years we only built around 300 pools, but every one made us proud and not once have we had a complaint.\n\n 19 years from my first pool, April 2006 starts the best year ever; our first year as Poolinstallers.net a family owned and operated business. We do carry a $3,000,000 insurance policy but most of all we carry the pride that every pool we install will add to our outstanding record of quality workmanship, within an inch isn't good enough for us, its got to be perfect . \n\n If you're looking for a top quality, professional pool installation at an affordable price, Poolinstallers.net is the company for you!\n

"They sent someone out to come fix it. I go online when I have an issue, instead of calling. It is very easy. You go online and tell them what is broken. The respond with who will be coming out within 24 hours. They have different plans for different amounts of money. I have my house and pool covered. I pay a $75 copay a month. I have had them for several years, and have never had an issue."

While it is possible to put a pool on a concrete slab, it’s not recommended. This can damage the liner of your pool and creates a rough floor that’s not pleasant. Professional installers use a sand base to create a level surface and ensure that your pool floor is comfortable.
Sand is a fine material that creates a smooth bottom for your pool. Other materials, such as dirt, could contain rocks that damage your pool liner.
Pool sand is also known as mason sand. The different types include concrete sand, yellow mason and white sand.
